  • I have been bullied at work through last year and got stressed
at the end of jan i had a cold/virus and stress that doc thinks triggered acid reflux which caused me to loose my voice and i could not talk for nearly 2 months i have been to see a speech therapist who has taught me to talk again over the past couple of weeks and the hypnotherapist was recommended to help me cope with the stress in order to try to avoid this happening again as i get stressed when i am over loaded with work

Sorry to hear that crafti- the flu virus has certainly been doing the rounds.

and you are having to pay for the hypnotherapist?

Do you know there are some really lovely ladies on MSE, who could probably recommend exercises or books or other stuff to help with the stress. That would help save some money.

And now you know us all, if you ever start to feel overwhelmed or stressed with work, come and offload! If someone is around, they will chat to you until you feel calmer.

thank you so much i really appreciate that
yes i am paying for everything as NHS is not happening the appointment to see an NHS consultant was for 2nd June which they have just cancelled and has to be reset
I have paid to see an ENT consultant privately which took 10 mins and cost me 280£ speech therapist is giving me a discount cos she is a friend of a friend so have to pay approx 50£ and hypno cost 50£ too
expensive way of getting time off work i think

    lol

Hi Crafti (Erika ) Dont blame Kit, she's wonderful, I've only met her once but will never forget her ( and NO she hasn't got a big bum ). I've been told by my Old Bat that we are coming down your way in a few weeks so hopefully we will get to meet you as well.

  • HR cant cope with me being off sick and going into work to do admin cos they have to pay supply to cover my lessons
so they want to know what date my voice was to return as if it had gone on vacation
i can now speak for a while but have to exercise etc muscles and vocal chords etc
but voice not established enough to do 5 hrs a day talking
and now i have to see occupational health for an assessment (a second oppinion) but isnt 3 gps, 1 consultant and a speech therapist enough to let someone know i had a problem
