We put ours up around the 9th December and down on or before the 6th January. We are usually sick of them by then and want to clean up for the new year (and new start)An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.0 -
My dd b/day is on the 4th so we dont decorate the main room and dinning room until the weekend after her b/day.
But i do decorate the kitchen (dont laugh) on the 1st dec, we have a small tree on the window and lots of xmas candles. All the kids xmas pics from school go on the cupboard doors and the first of the xmas cards are put on the doors.
We take them down around the 2nd jan, as we are normally fed up of seeing them by then!!Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
My birthday is the first week of December and my mum used to put the tree up then; my dbro's is the 14th and decorations would go up then. All down on 12th night.
These days, tree on my birthday ... but I don't tend to put many other decorations up.
My eldest two's b/days are 1st & 3rd Jan so they used to like having their birthday gifts left under the tree~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I normally put mine up around the 20th, and take them down 2-3rd Jan.
I like to give the sitting room a good clean in December and will wash down all the woodwork, give the windows a good clean, wash the curtains and sofas. Then it looks really bright and fresh when you take them back down again! Here I go again on my own....0 -
Ours go up around the 4h or 5th December and come down in stages from 2nd - 6th January.
I can't see the point in going to all that effort just to have them up for a few days.0 -
Ours will go up on the first Sunday in December, and back down again on the 12th night.0

Mine go up during the first weekend in December and won't come down until the 10th Jan. My son's first birthday is on 9th Jan, so we'll keep them up. My daughter's birthday is on 1st Jan and I don't think it will be fair that they'll be up for her birthday and not his!DMP mutual support number 174Total debt now (April 10) £0! - total paid off £30,221 or 100%I'm now debt free after 6 years!!:jNon smoker since June 2006 :j0
