The worst thing about the new Halifax online suite is the messages that keep flashing up before you are allowed to view your account summary. All I want to do is see my current account yet every time I log on I am made to see some rubbish direct marketing about an ISA that I cannot even enrol in as I already have an ISA account with another company. I try to change my preferences so that the ads disappear after I have read them once but they are there every time I log in. I wouldn't necessarily mind the odd advert here and there but when all that you really want to do is to check your balance in a hurry, they get pretty annoying!

It used to do that on the old system when I (and others) logged into Halifax or BOS.
I actually prefer the new system as it seems more reliable than the old Halifax system. I found the old platform to be unreliable when making payments and it often fell over with technical errors. The worst thing about the new Halifax online suite is the messages that keep flashing up before you are allowed to view your account summary. im happy i can access it on my phone again (after buying + using another phone for a while). still not sure why my reward credit card now says 'introductory' but never mind. most annoying thing is them taking away my shares so cant see the value of them but i understand they will be back eventually. i agree the adverts are also annoying esp the loan offers between account listings. its fine though.0

When you log in, go to change details in the top right, you can change what marketing you want to receive and switch these messages off. This only changed from the switch over in Sept and I haven't had one since so seems to work.0 -

Just done mine, didn't even know I could get shot of these incredibly annoying messages, so thank you for posting.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Am I alone in thinking the new halifax online banking website is more like a downgrade than an upgrade?
There is no clear indication of which is joint accounts as there is no names which would be helpful and I have different types of accounts but the only difference is the number not the type or name of account.
It is possible to rename your accounts to anything you wish from the full statement page FYI. Probably doesn't help you initially but should solve this problem.0 -
I like the new site, gives me all the info I need to know and find it easy to use. I like the simpler payment process and not having to keep putting your password in on every screen.
I guess it's down to personal preference really, some like it others don't, just like everything else!
One thing I do definately like is it updating at or before midnight instead of at 3 am. I also noticed last week that my money went in on Sunday instead of Monday, which is useful when your skint and waiting for it. Not sure what time it went in but I saw it at about 6pm on the Sunday, so I will try and remember to check again and report back, in case it was a one off.0
