Ok ridiculous question but does anyone know their refund policy, what if I booked a room then changed my plans or couldn't go?
No refund unless you pay the full price
    Just so you know… x
    You're booking a non-refundable, non-transferable Saver rate room.
A Saver rate booking can be amended up to 7 days before arrival, subject to a £5 amendment fee and availability
    Flexible Rate
(cancel up until noon the day you arrive)
  • My only problem with this sale is I have no preference on place or date haha which is no good when you are racing to get the low price.

So thank you for the heads up :D Going to have a think and be prepared with some dates and places this time!
  • Southwark is a good location for a London hotel. Very near the Tate Modern, easy walk to Tower Bridge, St Pauls, Covent Garden in each direction.

Be careful of the nearest car park (underground) as they have all night Raves. Make sure you are not leaving your car when the have one, we nearly did!

On street parking allowed over Bank Holidays (and Sundays - I think)

As a family we have stayed at Southwark a few times (always on offer deals!), but find the air con noisy in the middle of the night. Even though we have switched it off altogether it whirrs for about a minute and then stops, once it has woken you up!.

It is a good location and there is a 24/7 convienience store next door, which is good, as we buy milk for our breakfast from their in the morning (other Travelodges we have had to do this the night before and then the milk is not as cold the next morning).

Whats the best hotel to stay in for a family with a 3yr and a 6 month old baby?

Fancy a day out in London for my 30th and then a night staying over
It depends what you're planning to do. We generally use the bus rather than the tube to get around, as the kids hated the tube when they were younger, and although it might take a bit longer, you do see a lot more of the sights. Some places are noisier than others, but I always ask for a quiet room. The only place we found to be too noisy was City Rd, as we were at the front, and we got very little sleep because of the night bus stopping right outside.
If you post more details, I'm sure you'll get more help.

I would be very surprised it tends to be the more remote ones. If it is showing full price now I doubt whether it will come down. But! if it is you might as well wait it is only a few days.

Are the rooms which will be £10 already showing a discount then?

Not sure tbh! What would be good for us to do with the 3yr old? Guess I need to think of things which be ok if it rains.
  • grrr should have waited just booked a room for £39.50 :(

  • In preparation for the big surge of bookings next week Travelodge have revamped their website. If you haven't signed in for a while it may be worth having a look. There seem to be a couple of bugs - one of my bookings doesn't show up yet I received the email confirmation. I tried to use 'Contact Us' but the link is broken!
The number for head office is 01844 358500 - ask for reservations / customer services.

I messed up my 'verified by Visa' sign-in (at payment time) due to forgetting my memorable name - and got locked out for 3 hours- not what you need on Thursday! again no way of checking other than use another card.

From my bookings (on the 21Day / £19 offer) - I've noticied some TL's only have one room at £19 the next one goes up to £23.50 (same type/date) and so on. The local managers may have control if they then release more £19 rooms later on. The £19 rooms have also been 'put on' as a run up to next Thursday.

Big tip if you are waiting for the £10 offer for a weeks stay - bite the bullet and stump up £19 for some of your days - given how popular some locations are, and how slow the site goes on sale days, it will be be nearly impossible to book a full week before somebody else books one of your 'days' at the discount rate.
It takes the shine off your 'bargain break' if a couple of days have to be 'filled in' at £60-70 a night (but that's what TL want of course....)

If you are planning to get up bleary-eyed early on Thursday morning
remember to double check your dates / room types before clicking 'book room' After each single transaction booking they get reset -and of course you only get the saver rate on bookings one day at a time - last year I ended up with a very cheap room I could not use!

Lastly if you don't want booking cancelation insurance (virtually unclaimable on saver rooms) remember it is 'on' (+£1.50) by default.

    Good Luck....
    ;)
  • No, they don't give it away, although you can see the 'demand' dates by looking at current pricing (e.g. seaside locations at weekend, business locations on Sunday nights, 'Night-life' areas on Fri/Sat)
Even though most locations do some sort of promotion (all Managers have sales-driven targets) it may only be one room/per night at the cheapest (loss-leader) rate, other then increment at slight intervals automatically upon demand - this way they don't get stung. London for Kate/Wills big day will be off the list I'm sure!
