Im doing a lot of merchandising and low level ms work at the moment.About 20/25 jobs a day.
They all take 5/10 mins to do and enter up but by the time i get home it seems a big job.
I would like to enter up as I go along but am not sure which is the best way to do this.
Netbook,tablet or what?
Which is the most cost effective dongle thing ?
What are you guys doing ?
I would love to get home, throw the keys in the fruit bowl and forget about it all till the morning.0 -

Other than time in and out of the restaurant you don't need it to remember the exact time that you join the queue. You get the choice of entering the times as real clock times or split lap times, just select lap times.
In other news I posted this a couple pages back-
Voice Memos - I use this ALL the time. The headphones provided have a microphone on them, so I can hang them around my neck, start recording just outside the shop and then I've got an accurate record of the whole shop. Great for timings without the need to press buttons. I will point out at this point that the recordings are for personal use only and not passed to any third parties and as I'm part of the conversation there's no need to get permission from the other person involved.
A subtle cough when you reach the end of the queue and the rest of the timings are voice cues. Means you don't have to think about pressing the stop watch and lets face it, on the iPhone it's not easy to do this discreetly and accurately when you can't see the screen.
Haha, I have been MSing since March, but to be honest, it feels like an absolute age. When I first started, I took on LOADS of work. I had to walk in and order a pizza, and wait for it to be prepared.
I used the voice memo on my 3gs, as I was approaching the shop; furtively looked around and whispered the time into the phone, immediately despairing at what I had become - I felt like someone from a cop show! :rotfl:
I have not used the voice memo since.
And +1 for just remembering the start time and entering your burger times as split times.0 -

Not guilty although I can see a couple past their dates. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Hi All
I haven't posted for a while, by drop by every so often to see what's going on.
I can't help but notice the same old problems keep coming up - low fees, (or fees not even enough to reimburse the required spend), agencies not responding to emails, shoppers being sacked for no valid reason, late payment of fees etc, etc, etc.
Have any of you thought of starting your own mystery shopping agency (either individually or as a partnership wit other local MSers from the forum) ?
The fees would certainly be a darn site better!
I'm not suggesting you try and compete with the national agencies, but there are hundreds of local businesses that could benefit from mystery shopping services that you could target.
Anyway, just a thought....If it weren't for mystery shopping I would never have discovered the joy of launch control.0 -

I got a free netbook with my last mobile phone. It was from a comparison site.
But i you don't want/need a new phone it's probably a false economy.
Am I allowed to post a link to the website or is that against the rules? (I'm not connected to it in any way, other than being a previous customer)If it weren't for mystery shopping I would never have discovered the joy of launch control.0
