I suppose maybe you could waffle some crap about how you're in the area for a business course and have to give them the receipt for your expenses, and for some reason they won't pay you for take out meals. Have a little moan about how silly your company is about it to make it seem slightly more 'normal'!!!

Haha! You could try that but the staff in these places can smell a mystery shopper a mile off so I think they would see through this in seconds! It's another example of where following the rules will clearly blow your cover and in my opinion would pretty much void the usefulness of the visit but rules is rules I guess

True true - unfortunately. But then again we all know that Gap hardly give the most valid results anyway, as just the scenario itself, particularly going in on your own for a Burger job, phone out pretending to text while actually timing, asking for receipt, and having to sit there for 15 mins, even though their cruddy burgers only take 2 mins to eat, then always a quick trip to the loos!

I did enjoy when I went away the other week, we popped into a burger place on the way, and I took the famous Gap Timer with me, and pretended to time, but blatently obviously! We ordered milkshakes though, and I had the family with me. I asked for a receipt etc, and just generally made it really obvious!

I know it was very very naughty of me, but it's nowhere I would ever actually MS, and it was totally worth it for the look on the womans face, and over hearing her go and tell everyone that they have changed what MSers have to do, and they could be here with anyone and order anything, and the supervisor looking man tell everyone that they would have to step up and be really aware as they wouldn't know easily any more who the MSer was!!

Just had a phone call from Gap - I did a fast food assignment, dine in, but the receipt I got stated takeaway, so they just wanted to check that I had actually eaten in. They said in future may sure I check the receipt and if it is wrong for the scenario, tell them and get them to print a correct one. I might as well wear a badge saying " I'm a MS"

I've had this the other way round before. Did a drive thru and got a sit in receipt. Gap queried it and wanted to know what till the receipt had come from. Told them to check the cctv for my car and I couldnt see where the receipt came from. They were ok with that.

I understand they want to check we've followed the correct scenario but dont they keep telling us they can check the cctv?

I have - some of the health shops with RE and restaurants with RE as well.

Oooo... i'm curious now as to what the shop was that you had been waiting on!

It's a restaurant that also does takeaways, though my assignment is to dine in. Free night out with tasty grub! Can't beat that. :D
