I know it's unlikely that a genuine customer would do all of the above, but I think it just shows what kind of a poor company you used to work for if you got pi$sed off for being asked to pretty much just do your job.

Wow you are so pleasant! Nice of you to make it personal!

Back to the other part of my original question which is what this thread is supposed to be for: With RE are you only ever allowed to take one assigment at a time or is it because I am new to them?

After you have done your 1st one & answered the proofreading queries (if you have read the thread you know what to expect) and it has been passed for payment you will be allowed to select up to 8

Nevermind that, the electronic stock replenishment systems will have a field day at the sales of eggs. They will think it's pancake day all over again. Buyers in all these different companies will be sending messages to farmers up and down the land to get their birds to lay faster.

I doubt that ESA or the client will have advised all these different companies that this is happening. The 'return a small product below X price' message is in the brief for a reason. I haven't picked any up myself however returning the products at the larger supermarkets probably wont be a problem. Although try returning something to the German 'budget' lot. I bought a George Foreman grill that didn't work and was nearly at the small claims court by the time I got an exchange nevermind a refund! Also some of the other stores are independents who operate under a banner (think GAP corner shops) I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that in there either.

It was the European discount stores I was thinking of.

I am all for competitor shopping, all of the big names are at it so fair game. But I don't really see what they are gaining either with the likes of the European discount budget stores, they are a completely different type of store and their service measures are different. So it is not really a valid comparison with a competitor.

At least in the actual egg shops they are so familiar with the scenario they generally know and play the game!

I said you worked for a poor company, nothing personal there. I can't imagine that anyone who works for a company that makes people work for 14 hours a day with minimal support would be overjoyed to do their job.

Esa don't think there is a problem. Pretty much advised that this is what the client wants and just to do the damage out of sight so as not to get caught. Despite me insisting that it is fraudulent and I asked if it had been run past a legal team (it hasn't) he wasn't bothered and advised me to release the job if I wasn't happy.
    Professional is not the word!

of course the main problem now is that we have discussed it so much on here that any employees of the competitors will know exactly what we are up to if they serve us (and know we have deliberately damaged it!) hmmm perhaps we should tell esa that! i have a few but am a bit worried about that part. although clearly they cannot prove it! (unless they get security to search your bag and find notes :p ) sure they cant do that though!

And of course, as these are competitors, there is no way that ESA can check if you carried out the job correctly - No management checks or CCTV to watch.

Not that I would advocate that course of action - if you take the job, do the job, and do the job to the letter. If you don't like it , don't take it!

I would imagine that rather than damaging something, like crushing crisps, or making a hole in the milk, a more advisable option may be to buy something like a prawn sandwich - take a bite, pull a face, take it back!!! That way in case security or anything did happen to see (as several supermarkets have cameras outside, and around the back etc, that show up on the same multi screen thing that the security guard can see), you aren't actually damaging a product, just lying about it. And no staff member is seriously going to take a bite themselves to check you're telling the truth!! (One would hope not anyway!) :D
