European discount budget stores, they are a completely different type of store and their service measures are different.
Definitely! Although at the pace they scan things at you could ask the 'I need inspiration for dinner' question as they start to scan and by the time they have pulled the face and looked at you like an idiot (whilst continuing to scan like hell) the eggs will have popped off the end of the (very little) counter and you will have a valid product return.0 -

I would imagine that rather than damaging something, like crushing crisps, or making a hole in the milk, a more advisable option may be to buy something like a prawn sandwich - take a bite, pull a face, take it back!!! That way in case security or anything did happen to see (as several supermarkets have cameras outside, and around the back etc, that show up on the same multi screen thing that the security guard can see), you aren't actually damaging a product, just lying about it. And no staff member is seriously going to take a bite themselves to check you're telling the truth!! (One would hope not anyway!)
The problem is though is that the suppliers will be the ones to suffer, not the supermarkets. Any food that is deemed off, damaged packaging, stale etc will be charged to the supplier be it a farmer (milk) sandwich supplier or other. Is this fair? NO!!
However, I somehow feel that some (alot!) of the folk doing these jobs may actually call ESA's bluff and just tick the relevant boxes rather than actually ask the ridiculous question and then take an item back. There will be no proof will there? Who is right and who is wrong here? I personally am not doing any so won't have the dilemma!0 -
assume they will give a receipt for the item thats returned?
eta actually you only need to upload a purchase receipt. hmm bit of an error that might turn out to be!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Hmmm, tricky really isn't it.
I'm glad I'm not doing any. May well have picked some up actually if I had seen them, as do actually tend to eat quite a lot of eggs nowadays (as they are Free on Slimming World!!), and the reports were dead easy (unless they've changed much now actually, haven't looked recently as ESA have too many niggles for me at the moment!). Only saw 1 local competitor but was already taken, and I'm not going to bother with their Back Up malarky!!
Maybe something like damaged packaging then might be better (hole in the OJ carton/ milk etc), as that could be the fault of the individual supermarket itself's branch/transit process, who won't suffer in the slightest at such small losses.
Difficult principle really.
Whose responsibility would it be to govern these types of things?? What sort of Governing Body is there to make sure MS companies abide by rules/laws etc?Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -

Do you always get a receipt for a returned item? Often, when there are other items on the original purchase receipt (which there has to be for these jobs), they just strike it through and return your original receipt to you.Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -

Not everyone will ask for a refund though, depending on the product (eg crisps) it may only be a swap. It's poorly thought out, I wouldn't be surprised if there are changes made before f/w goes live.0 -
True.
I think then a lot of people will just pop in, buy the things that they need to buy, and not bother with the rest.
Obviously not something (m)any of us on here will encourage!!
But seeing as getting decent feed out of ESA is a bit blood out of stone like now, maybe taking them for some easy money is justified!!Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -
