Ian Staurt dresses

LOL!! I think if you have an unlimited budget and money is no object then why not have 2 designer dresses! It is a shame we're not closer or we could have swapped dresses half way through :rotfl:
My bf is the opposite and wants me to go for the dream dress, but it is just so expensive, I really don't think it is worth it. We haven't had a holiday for years and I would rather get a cheaper dress and put the money saved towards going away, or towards a new bathroom!! Even if I could sell it on afterwards it would only be worth a fraction of the price so it would be a huge amount of money to spend. Makes it harder though as if I go for something cheaper I don't want him to be disappointed when I walk down the aisle
I am tempted to check out that wedding factory outlet someone mentioned recently- sounds like there are so great savings to be had. Downside would be it's a fair treck and would be expensive on the train if I didn't find anything I liked.
Ach this is soooo hard!!
Swapping dresses what a great idea - that would be amazing:rotfl:
maybe we should OHs too :rotfl:Mine would be happy for me to have what I want till he knew the price!!
Not sure I'd sell my dress afterwards - though not sure what real benefit I'd get from it hanging in the wardrobe. But guess it could be a way to get somemoney back.0 -

Yeah maybe the wedding outlet places are the way to go. Definately worth a look, but I guess only if quite close or you can make a day of it or somehing.
Maybe I just need to find someone who can make flowerbomb for me (for as little as possible that is) and I'll be laughing!!:rotfl:0 -

Have you tried looking up dressmakers in you area? A friend of mine her daughter married a couple of years ago and she was a large girl - not sure what she has done with her dress and it isn't a Ian Stuart (that I know of), but could enquire if you like. Billie x:j I belong to Mike's Mob :j0

Not tried looking at local dressmakers yet... but might give it ago.
I have my fingers crossed that I will be back down to a size 10 for my dress!! I am losing all teh time:T
So depending on how large your friend daughter was.. it might be too big!!
But thanks for that!0 -
Think she was at least a 16 - so good for you. Pity my mum is longer with us as she was a dressmaker and only lived the other side of Canterbury. I am trying to put my thinking cap on for dressmakers your way. Somewhere like C & H Fabrics in Canterbury probably have a list of local dressmakers.:j I belong to Mike's Mob :j0

Thanks so much Billie....:)
I might try and google some dressmakers, but then would need to get some recommendations.
The diet is very much ongoing.... but i will win. :)Might have to go and look at some nice dresses in a shop and see if that gives me a kick!!:rotfl:Flower Bomb - here I come. :j0 -
If you find yourself a good dressmake they can usually copy most of a picture of a dress that you like, or tell you what bits of it will suit your shape. Obviously your major concern at the moment is losing the weight, but finding a dressmaker to talk to would be a good idea and of course they could also give you a rough idea of prices. Wishing you all the luck in the world and enjoy your day - I always say your wedding day is the shortest day of your life - so make the most of it. Billie xx:j I belong to Mike's Mob :j0

Definately need to get the weight shifted... Thats what being content does to you:(:rotfl:
Would you have any idea at all of teh sort of timescales required to make a dress like Flower bomb and any idea how much dressmakers cost. Can it work out cheaper than buying off the peg?0
