Morning ladies,
Is anyone having/had an Ian Stuart wedding dress?
I have seen some lovely ones on his web site, but have not tried any on yet.
Can anyone give me a rough idea in terms of price?
Also how are they in terms of quality - everyone here keeps saying that Maggie dresses are the way forward because of teh quality.
Any thoughts welcomed.

Of all the designers that I saw, Ian Stuart tended to be towards the higher end! Maggie dresses are known for their corsets- although I didn't end up with a Maggie (or an Ian!) and my corset if fine! £1800 ish for an Ian Stuart at one of the places I went seems to ring a bell.0

Ooooooooooh  Thats scarey!!!My mum is paying for my dress, but can't really justify that sort of money.

Ian Stuart are beautiful dresses....In my opinion they are high quality but yes the quality does come at a price...having said that though if you are open to the suggestion of the preloved dress then there are some great savings to be made....the sale rails could also be well worth a look at toofrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I love Ian Stuart dresses as well, especially this one- it just looks amazing. Though it wouldn't be very practical, it looks hard work just to walk in never mind dance in. I vaguely remember someone here tried it on, and it was around £4k :eek::eek:
I love this one as well, though I don't know about prices for that one.
They are truly amazing though *drools* Have you thought about getting one made by a dressmaker? It would have to be a cheaper option, surely?!0 -

Wow - that dress really is stunning.... But 4K!!!:eek::eek::eek: Umm might be a bit out of my price range
From pictures I am currently in love with Flower bomb (I think thats what its called anyway)... not sure how to post links or pictures, but it looks amazing. Well looks amazing in the mags/web etc on the models, might not look as good on me :rotfl:
I would love to have a dress made ... but just assumed that would be way out of my price range. Also I need to lose a serious amount of weight (3-4 stone) until I am happy with myself. Wedding isn't till 25th August next year, but not sure I would have time to lose the weight and have the dress made as well.

Hello,
It was me who tried on the masquerade dress, and yes, it was £4k!! I tried on quite a few of his dresses and they were all in excess of £2k new. There do seem to be quite a few on the pre-loved websites though, I think people who do buy them are inclined to try to recoupe some of their money by selling it on so you could try the dress on in a shop and then look on t'internet for a cheaper one! x0 -
Just had a look at "flower bomb" ...found it on a wedding forum where it was being discussed...someone has bought the dress and it was being discussed where she bought it from "for such a good price".....£3240.......um....shall I have a delve to see if I can find it cheaper...although if that was the good price what did it start at?......frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Wow Flowerbomb is amazing!! That is such a unique and utterly beautiful dress.
Yup the Masquerade one is stunning. I keep looking at some different Maggie ones but keep coming back to the Masquerade. I think it might be a bit too much though, I would seriously worry about how to walk in it, and I would be roasting if it's a hot day!
£4k is well and truly out of my price range as well, unless I can miraculously find it in a 90% off sale :rotfl:
Whereabouts are you Hadley? I am considering asking Linda to make my dress but need to figure out exactly what I want first, and then see how the prices compare. However I would suggest it is definitely worth asking for a quote as her dresses are amazing and very reasonably priced- I think she said none of her dresses came to over £1k, and she has done some really beautiful designs. And you get the bonus of having a unique dress that you know nobody else will be wearing! She also is used to working with people on weight loss plans, so it is worth asking her advice on that as well.
Actually I should hurry up and work out what I'm doing before recommending Linda to all my date twins, or she will be booked up before I've got my bum in gear! :rotfl:0 -
*faints*:eek::eek:
That really is crazy money for a dress that you will only wear for one day. It is beautiful though!Just had a look at "flower bomb" ...found it on a wedding forum where it was being discussed...someone has bought the dress and it was being discussed where she bought it from "for such a good price".....£3240.......um....shall I have a delve to see if I can find it cheaper...although if that was the good price what did it start at?......0 -

It is an amazing dress.
Just need to find that sale then I can live out my fantasy:rotfl:0
