M69 between the M1 and the M6. 3 lanes, no cars. I love it
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
This reminds me of when I was about 7 and telling my Mum off for taking a swig of water whilst driving because I thought drink driving was literally that, you couldn't have a drink whilst driving!! Ahhh the innocence of youth!
;) Better to say nothing and look a fool than to speak and remove all doubt
:D

I don't put anything in my mouth while driving. I don't smoke anyway so that isn't an issue, but one time I was eating chocolate while I was driving and started to choke. I had to stop the car on the bypass and get out. I was really scared and my aim was to stop a car, but it cleared itself as soon as I got out of the car.0

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Is it true that in Texas you can actually drink beer whilst driving providing you aren't drunk? :cool:0 -

Not sure about that, but from watching the tv cop shows I thought most of the states had a "no open container" rule in force??

Most states do, just not Texas.
Don't know about actually drinking from the bottle though.0 -

I think you have fallen into "urban myth" territory there.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_container_lawWikipedia wrote:To comply with TEA-21, a state's motor vehicle open container laws must:
- Prohibit both possession of any open alcoholic beverage container and consumption of any alcoholic beverage;[9]
- Cover the passenger area of any motor vehicle, including unlocked glove compartments and any other areas of the vehicle that are readily accessible to the driver or passengers while in their seats;[9]
- Apply to all open alcoholic beverage containers and all alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, and spirits that contain one-half of one percent or more of alcohol by volume;[9]
- Apply to all vehicle occupants except for passengers of vehicles designed, maintained or used primarily for the transportation of people for compensation (such as buses, taxi cabs, and limousines) or the living quarters of motor homes;[9]
- Apply to all vehicles on a public highway or the right-of-way (i.e. on the shoulder) of a public highway;[9]
- Require primary enforcement of the law, rather than requiring probable cause that another violation had been committed before allowing enforcement of the open container law.[9]
As of November, 2007, only one state (Mississippi) allows drivers to consume alcohol while driving (as long as the driver stays below the 0.08% blood alcohol content limit for drunk driving and many counties within Mississippi have their own laws preventing open containers), and only eight states (Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia) allow passengers to consume alcohol while the vehicle is in motion. Still, local laws in these states may limit open containers in vehicles, although those local laws do not impact the state's compliance or noncompliance with TEA-21.
So Mississippi, not Texas, allows you to literally drink alcohol while driving.0 -
