Attempted Burglary

I guess it depends on the type of dog, the one my auntie got if any one got in the house they wouldn't have been able to get close to him, he'd have had them as soon as they stepped into the house and not in any playful way either!
Thanks to TS, BM, LR and the others for great help with 'P+I'

Touch wood we've never been burgled but my Dad had his works van stolen once off the drive. My dad recently bought a rottweiler/german shepherd. She goes mental if anybody comes within 100 yds of the house, a cold caller began walking down the drive the other day then turned round and walked off. I have no doubt that a dog is a good detterent but a dog is a big commitment and can be expensive so its not an easy, cheap option. A few months ago I had to go to a customer`s house out in the country, they had three rottweillers in a cage. They looked like the hounds from hell0

They confirmed that when burglars hear a dog they will move on to the next house for an easir life.
Most burglaries round here are due to insecure properties.

I live on a road which actually has the towns police station, approx 20 doors down, but still a house 2 doors down was burgled, the poor fella at the time was passing away in hopsital, It gave me a wake up call and I done a few measures to safe guard our home.
My house backs onto allotments so the potential for someone to jump the back fence is high.
We stuck *BEWARE OF THE DOG* stickers on Patio doors, front door and side door, the sticker has a menacing sillouette (sp?) of an alsation, my dog is actually a yorkiexchiuahuah but he has a loud bark!
We also payed out to have a mini floodlight for back and a doorstep lantern which again is triggered by movement closeby.
I know you can't ever be 100% safe but by spending the £100 on the lights and stickers I feel i have tried to make it unappealing as poss to passing burglars.#JusticeForGrenfell0
