No i am not in a call centre "Sherlock". Just a normal customer trying to help out "WHAT A MISTAKE!! won't bother again.
First of all I dont remember saying you worked in a call centre? Merely a salesman, Defensive are we Alan??
Secondly something doesnt add up, you say you used Uswitch to do the comparison but Uswitch only shows BG not Sainsburys energy and the only way you get the 10000 points is by signing up to Sainsburys energy.
So the info in the original post was incorrect.
Another thing I would warn people about is getting phonecalls from "Nectar", apparently my mum had a phonecall from someone saying he was from "Nectar" and asked her a few random questions about shopping and how she uses her nectar points and then went in with "So who do you use for your gas and electricity?" she said it seemed quite suspicious because the questions he asked about the shopping and Nectar points were, in her words, "Pointless and irrelevent"
So it was actually a phonecall from a Sainsburys energy/BG salesman. She didnt say if his name was Alan or not...Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
I was originally led to U Switch by "THIS SITE" after putting in my details postcode etc, the results told me i would be £29 better off by switching from EDF to BG plus i would be able to continue receiving Nectar Points.
Therefore total savings in first year over £79
So what you are all saying is this is not the case. So why is MoneySavingExpert advertising & recommending U Switch?
Myself i would like to thank Martyn Lewis for helping us less fortunate.
Neither does it add up that Uswitch would be the source of this fantastic deal.
I just used Uswitch and there are 44 better deals ahead of this one for my consumption pattern.
It would cost me £388 to take advantage of the £50 worth of 'Nectars' plus the hassle of cashing them in.
Perhaps, Alan PX would care to retract his advice before any unsuspecting punter gets carried away with the 'honey pot'.;)
Oh and where does Martyn Lewis come into this? Or was that a final pathetic attempt at some sort of credibility. Surely there must be a sick bucket emoticon !0 -

No not defensive at all i have no professional association whatsoever with BG, Nectar or Sainsburys. When did i ever mention Sainsburys in my original post?
BG now offer 10,000 Nectar points for signing with them, NOT Sainsburys.
Here's a copy of the original email i received:

I have just re entered my details on USwitch & guess what?
BG came out top again i have took a screen snip but it will not let me post link.
I can't beleive i have been attacked like this just for trying to help.
I bet if you search this forum every energy supplier has many negative comments posted about them, in my case i genuinley thought i was being helpful, obviously not.
As for credibility i do not need any from the likes of you, My friends & family know i am credible.
And the sick bucket comment? Well it's just sick.
In future i will just KEEP MY THOUGHTS TO MY SELF!!

British Gas Websaver 11 was it?
Oh that doesn't qualify for the 10,000 Nectar Points.
You aren't helping because you have the facts wrong and keep repeating them like an advert.
Your misleading people and potentially costing them money. Please join Money Spending.com0 -

I also would not advise anyone to contact first time posters on forums prompting people to "PM them for more information"Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
