noticed you snuck in about paying a debt of YAY! just remember to close it as it looks better when you are applying for new 0% deals if you have less available credit!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

well done on clearing a debt off...
am so with you on the shopping fiasco...that is something I've never managed so think I may use the cash in envelope idea along with shopping list and meal planning0 -
Hey chev, hey taxi,
how have you both been?
chev i am thinking it would be better if i dont close that vissa account tbh ... the reasons for this are ....
we do need access to EMERGENCY MONEY ( thats for my benefit ... so that i dont spend on it unless it is an EMERGENCY) for things that may come up
its the best card for use abroad no charges etc ... and we like going abroad ( ok we dont get to go as often as we would like ) so need to do it as cheaply as possible
when mr el applies for his new card to transfer onto we will deff be closing the other one ... and when i clear mine it will be getting closed as well ... but i want to keep the other one as it is much better for us
taxi ,
i did the envelope with mr el ( it was a new week of food money on friday) i put what was left in an envelope ( approx £23 with some pennies... as that is all that is left to do us till i get paid ) and wrote on the envelope this money has to last till friday 28th october ... next to it ( i keep it all in a 1kg marg tub) i wrote another envelope reciepts ... i then left them and didnt say anything to mr el ... yesterday we had to go shopping for aunty Jean ( it's costing us a fortune) and mr el saw the envelopes... he didnt say anything until we came back from the hospital and we were putting the change back into the envelope ( he had also bought a bottle of ginger from the croner shop) ... mr el said " can i just ask one thing? " " fire away " says i ... " can we not put it in an envelope but in a money bag instead as we have change now ... unlike when we go on holiday " ... now i didnt even mention that i was doing this ... i didnt even mention look we do this on holliday and it works so lets try it here .... he got it straight away ( i was kinda surprised lol)
so the money is now in a money bag with a note ( automatically written by mr el ) saying this money has to last till friday 28th october ... and as mr el didnt get a reciept for the bottle of ginger he wrote a recipet out stating where, when, what and how much
fingers crossed it carries on like that0 -
:j:j:j By jove I think he's got it!!! :j:j
Hopefully now that the penny has dropped he'll find it easier, and if you meal plan as well it shouldn't be too bad.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

fingers crossed gilligan .... with mr el it has been a very slow process over the years ... it takes him a while to get "it" then he "looses" it again lol0

He's more likely to keep with it, since he had the idea of the bag."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Fingers crossed Z ... It would make life so much easier and better for us if he did ... And we could get D.F even faster .... Maybe I am just dreaming though lol0

ooooo something interesting just happened ... we have had visitors in today ( i sneaked onto my phone when they went down stairs on the comp) they had just came back from farmf**ds and were telling me about the price they had paid for milk ( 4lts for £1.80 incase anyone fancies getting some) and mr el heard the chat and went "mrs el when they go we are going there" so they duly left after coffee biscuits and a chat ( its good to catch up with friends)
we then went to the shop and mr el said " ive got the money bag " ( he really seems to like it ... i deff think Z has a point) he counted everything out to the last penny and used only the change ( he left the notes behind) i was standing in the shop feeling proud sniffle... it also reminded me of what i am like when we go on holiday ...( i always insist on using the change so have been known to be standing counting out pennies for a coffee)
i explained it to mr el and he agreed with a wee sly smile ... and on our way home he said " i think i like this game ... you want my money i dont want to give you it unless i have to " i thought ... oh this is a day for new changes
anyway just thought i would share ...0 -
sounds like he's definitely got it..0

Fantastic - he's got it! And sounds like you've found the switch to get him really into it. Brilliant.0
