  • Found you guys!

i'm off the flylady wagon a bit at the moment. Some days it is so hard to just get anything done. My plan is to have a fairly good tidy and clean tomorrow when DH is at home and can watch the baby. Then i can maybe manage a bit of a routine for tidying in 10 minute chunks around nap times. I liked sarahsavers idea of 10minutes of ironing a day. The mess is starting to annoy me a bit.

I'm going to try and sort out a list and routine. I need some inspiration from somewhere.

Michelle - your little one is only little once - do the very basics and spend your time with him :) And don't neglect yourself either.

If you can't manage 10 minutes - make it five! Heck, even just picking up five things - takes 1 minute tops - but still makes a difference.

    Hugs to you 1.gif

Blimey Hex - you've had an eventful few days - your OH is something of a hero - I seem to remember he's s fireman isn't he? Lucky girl!

Michelle - your doing far better than I did as a new mum. I remember one particular day when my OH came home and asked me what I'd done that day - I was breastfeeding and DS was feeding constantly and always awake, I'd only ventured off the couch to make a sandwich and go to the toilet!! :rotfl:

27 fling boogie - get a black bag - run round a room / your home and toss in it 27 things you nolonger need and can throw/sell/donate.

Well so much for back at 1pm!
OH wandered around bugging me to death (he's useless at doing nothing!), then sat on computer for 2 hours then went out, DD2 rang up and said she was coming home from grandparents, DD1 opted to stop the night. So basically I feel like I've achieved nothing all day!

Better than me then. I've not been managing to eat or go to the loo. Daren't leave the baby alone when the two cats are in the house. Or, i start making something, the baby grizzles, the food gets left, and the cat is on the bench eating it. Or i turn round and they are fighting, far worse than they ever used to.

It was so bad the other day, i took the baby up to the bathroom with me, laid him on the fluffy bath mat. He fell asleep, so i quickly rushed and got the bin and recycling boxes in, put a load of washing in, and started folding clothes on the airer before he woke up. Again, that was about ten minutes.

On a good day though, like today, he will sleep for hours and then i get loads done.

    ACTION PLAN for today
    1) [STRIKE]put washing up away[/STRIKE]
    2) [STRIKE]clean sink and draining board[/STRIKE]
    3) [STRIKE]wipe kitchen sides down[/STRIKE]
    4) [STRIKE]clean cooker[/STRIKE]
    5) [STRIKE]declutter living room a bit[/STRIKE]
    6) [STRIKE]go for a walk somewhere as a family[/STRIKE]
    7) do some ironing
    8) [STRIKE]wash my hair[/STRIKE]
    9) [STRIKE]have a long soak in the bath[/STRIKE]
    10)[STRIKE] visit a local shop for essentials[/STRIKE]
    11) put loaf on in BM
    12) make ginger cake in BM (packet plus oil and water = 2 mins ;) and a very tasty and quick to grab snack)
    13) [STRIKE]run brush and hoover around living room and kitchen[/STRIKE]
    14) try to get into the suitcase of my pre-pregnancy clothes and find some clothes that fit a bit better.

I know the list is quite long, but there are some things for me on too, i will also encourage DH to get involved, and I will certainly be enjoying the baby when he is awake. :o Anything not done will automatically roll over.

    Hugs to everyone.
    Michelle. xx

Michelle - I drowned in mess when I had DS1 but the house was a tip to start with. You at least started off tidy, it won't get apalling over night, and if you stay as disciplined as you can then you should be able to stay on top of most of it in short bursts. I really do sympathise, I used to struggle to get my teeth cleaned, never mind the house. The only person I knew with a new baby and a clean house had a cleaner. Dont worry about the cats - mine soon learnt to leave the baby alone.

Baileys Babe - make a start on one of the boxes in the spare room. Little and often is the only way that works for me. If I see something as an epic task then I just don't bother, telling myself its only 15 minutes to do a box works.

Punky - OH is an engineering manager and very practical. Not great at household - but brilliant at fixing things. We work well together.;)

Tonight I have the ironing mountain to tackle. It is now touching the ceiling in the utility so I may be some time.....
