I've had a light bulb moment all on my own re hubbies shifts - if he can work a 10 or 11 day/5 week shift pattern - so can I!! I'm off now to take Fly Lady's routine examples to fit in with his 5 week shift pattern so we still get 'family days' as well as 'grown up' days........

Pavlovs dog - I'm a bit new to this, but a boogie is a 15 minute max stint at clearing/sorting out that area that gets to you the most - in my case, at the moment, my desk! The theory is you can do anything for 15 minutes without getting over whelmed and giving up, and you still get a sense of acheivement.

    HTH

PS - I use EssentialPIM Pro as a 'diary/reminder' of stuff to do, as you can set up tasks to happen every day, every so many days, every week or every so many weeks, so OH's shift pattern is already in there, all I've got to do is match it......
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Here you go, Punky, piece of Maya Gold. Did you know it's good for your heart?

 Had a bit of a nightmare, oven on with enormous (reduced) chicken for tea, nice cake in, took the cake out, shut oven door, power goes off. Pitch black, old fuse box, no torch, try main switch nothing happens, comfort distressed toddlers. what do we do :cry::angry:

bless him my lovely OH walks in the back door 5 minutes later complete with emergency maglite. Presses some things, gets the power straight back on.

Oven now completely dead, element and fan have gone, chicken half cooked, visitors over for dinner tomorrow. Three weeks to move what do you do? 5 mins on the internet he is now off at comet picking up cheapest stainless steel fan oven (169) we could find in a hurry with a view to changing it tonight. He is just brilliant :smileyhea

Ground floor now clean, quick whizz round upstairs in the morning and I'll be ready.

Don't worry TNG the cake was ready.....:T Pan fried the chicken breasts - I binned the manky microwave in an over enthusiastic boogie a few weeks ago. :o

    Hi everyone

Well I have been soooo unproductive the last few days that I have given myself a firm kick up the bum and have come up with a HUGE list (I'm not intending to get it all done, I thought it might just get me moving!) so for the weekend:-

    5 min whizz round rooms
    DW & kit sides
    washing & ironing
    sort out post
try and get up to date with personal accounts
check I've paid water & council tax up to date
    mop floors in kit/d.toilet/bath
    vacumn downstairs
clean out car (finally got it back from DH)
    clear out handbag
    recycling
    dust
    glass in mirrors & doors
    clean fridge
    menu & shopping list
    empty bins
    sort xmas presents

    office
    desk
    general filing
    sales invoices & filing
    file wages
    PL due/chqs/queries
overdue customers - identify/locate/extract dosh from
sort box of "can't be bothered to sort" stuff

    extra
anything else I find along the way!

    Right I'm off!

I shall be back to report around 1pm and if I haven't done anything you can all give me a good telling off!
  • Hi, KS! Good to see I'm not the only one here today. I've done the ironing, made bread and soup, DH has been shopping and bought a fresh pork pie from the butcher - wasn't on his list, but looking forward to it. It was still warm when he got it home.

I've cleaned out the fridge, done the laundry and tidyed the kitchen.

DH and I have been in the garden - it's lovely and sunny. We've swept leaves and chopped wood, so haven't felt the cold and wind!

DH has now gone to collect DS from footie (on their bikes today) so I'm sat here with a coffee and muffin.

See you at 1pm, KS! Hope there are some others showing their faces, too.

House is now as clean as it has ever been. New oven works perfectly so am happy with it. Upstairs carpets washed for what should be the last time :j .

I can now spend the afternoon playing with my boys without feeling I am neglecting core tasks.
