We are holding 2 parties on sucessive weekends and people can just come on the day that is most convenient & I guess some will come to both.:D

  • Wednesdays plan:
    1) put BM on (DH found paddle in bin :rotfl: )
    2) one load through WM
    3) ironing - at least ten items
    4) make a pot of veggie soup in SC
    5) defrost spag bol sauce, cook spag for tea
    6) go to mums, help sisters do a pre xmas toy declutter
    7) put away washing up
    8) [STRIKE]get petrol[/STRIKE]
    9) start organising clothes for weekend away
    10) [STRIKE]deal with post[/STRIKE]
    11) [STRIKE]get travel cot from mums[/STRIKE]
    12) [STRIKE]post some letters[/STRIKE]

Gosh - that was actually a poor effort. I felt like i had done more than that, but baby was very sicky and mardy, so i was doing stuff most of the day.

Pigpen cleaning at your mums does count. Or at least i would count it as you are helping someone else to FLY.

baileysbabe glad you liked my percentage idea. I use it when i do SAT marking in the summer or writing reports for kids, and it really works for me. I haven't used it much in the home context, but i think i may try to.

    well today,
    1) must make the veggie soup before everything needs binning
    2) must make a start on packing for the weekend away
    3) must deal with sickie and wet baby clothes. DH was moaning at me because he had to go to work in a baby-sick stained jumper, although he knows perfectly well where the WM, TD and airers are. Plus, he had time to watch hours of carp telly this week.
    4) pack away some of my maternity clothes, find out some real clothes so i can then walk around without my trousers falling down.
    5) make something tasty for tea when we haven't got a lot in.
    6) assemble travel cot to check all bits are there and then repack
    7) bath baby at some point when he isn't screaming at me.
    8) have a soak myself for my luxury of the day.
    9) make that elusive loaf that i keep threatening to so that there is bread for my lunch and DH's pack up for tomorrow.
    10) deal with post

have had some fun already today. Got up through the night to get a glass of water, and found the cat had been sick on the kitchen floor, which i discovered as i stood in it. so i cleaned that up at 4:30. It's the same cat that was being ill last month, so god knows what is causing it. Hope it was a fluke as they are in the cattery over the weekend while we are away.

  • Keep seeing the flylady challenge - wanted to ask what it's all about, and how I can join in? House is tip - clutter mainly, feeling overwhealmed by it all! I'm also feeling cluttered in myself - wanting to lose weight, get back to work etc etc!!

  • Hi, SS! Course you can join in. Flylady is an American website, where Flylady helps people who want to clean, tidy and generally declutter. On here we try to do her daily task (kindly posted by Pondsaver) plus whatever we need to do in our own home. Website's here.

    3 of my Top Tips:

    1. Babysteps - do a little bit and finish it, then give yourself a treat.

    2. Use a timer - spend 15 mins on a task (eg cleaning the bathroom, iroining). Do 3 tasks then spend 15mins having a rest.

    3. Keep a small notebook and pencil about your person at ALL TIMES! Jot down jobs that need doing as you see them. This way you don't get sidetracked, and can add to your master list later.

    HTH.

    Woohoo - a newbie :D :hello:

Have a look on flylady.net (is that right, Flybabes?) first, then pop back and ask your questions. Don't be daunted by it - just check out babysteps......

But it sounds like it's just what you need :j :j

  • Thanks for the helping hand there - I'm the Shell part of StevenShell by the way!! :D

I'm off out now to the P/O and the bank, so will take a look at the website mentioned - I think i've looked at it before, but not read in depth!

How will I find what is to do daily - is it in the first post of this thread and changed, or do I just scroll through today and find it there?

Soz for the questions - it's always daunting being a newbie lol lol - more daunting though is the sty that is called my house!
