Just make yourself a short list of short jobs. thats the baby stepping :)

For example- you know yourself that theres some jobs that need to be done everyday, like washing, or washing up or whathave you.

Write list - but DONT make it really long LOL
I can cope with a long list as Ive been doing this for aaages, but at the start, you just want a few things you can do so you dont get overwhelmed.

If you have one room thats particualrly stylike ( a kids room maybe?) then DONT say
task 1 clean & tidy kids room break it down
    to small tasks like
    change bed sheets
    tidy out toybox etc

    Break everything down

But the most important thing is- shine your sink :j

  • Shine my sink?!!! What's that!!!

I'm back from p/o - couldn't get near the place, so went to the bank and came home in the warm - got a stinking cold so didn't fancy staying out longer than I needed to!!

Am just about to look at the flylady site and make a list of jobs. Luckily I'm half way there as I already break down rooms into jobs to do :D

  • I've lost my timer  , think ds has tidied it some place.

Also had a washing disaster ~ dyed a cream sheet pink (made the mistake of putting all our bedding in together, usually wash colours & darks seperatly), decided not to rescue it as the colour has taken evenly.

Still not done garden, will go now and do it before going to work.

Well I've just been having a quick look through here and it looks like I need to add a messy but necessary job as top priority tomorrow ... replace the sealant around the bath & windows upstairs. Am going to go and don the rubber gloves and get the bleach out now to tackle the walls & grouting but sealant will be a replacement job...if I'm not back in 30 minutes send a chocolate cake after me please :D

welcome SHELL :hello: - i know it does sound silly to 'shine your sink' - it basically means to empty your sink and get it clean and sparkly. believe us: it does make all the difference when you get up in the morning to a clean and tidy kitchen!! (because i realised once the sink is clean i clean the rest automatically ;))

 i did something today that was planned for aaaaaages
and it just happened today without even being on ANY list!!!
i scrubbed the kitchen floor on hands and knees!!!!!!:dance::dance:

    - kitchen is clean
    - stripped our bed and guestbed :T
    - one load in t/d already 2nd load in w/m
    - 3rd washing folded (not put away just yet )
    - cleaned the bin
    - d/w un-and reloaded
    - pigsback :j
    - did all my surveys :j
    - dropped ds at nursery and picked him up again
    - bought wellies for dd
    - dropped 2 big bags with clothes at charity shop

    nothing much planned!
a friend has just arrived so time for a cuppa :D
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work ;)

Hello FLYbabes & FLYboy. Welcome StevenShell

Not posted for a few days as having a DREADFUL week. I'm feeling totally overwhelmed by my house as every room feels messy and in need of a clean. The builders are in putting up our new conservatory and are about to knock through so the garden, dining room and lounge are affected.

My FIL decided to decorate the guest room (I have to find him 'projects' to do while I care for MIL who has alzeimers and the projects are now indoors because of the weather) which affects the rooms upstairs.

Can't get to the utility because of the ironing pile from hell and the kitchen has become a dumping ground.

I tell you - you soon realise how important it is to do your daily routines coz as soon as you stop the whole place goes to pot!

Anyway, I'm gonna stop feeling sorry for myself and stop eating all the naughty stuff in the house (that's easy as I've eaten it all! :rotfl: ) and start with shining my sink ....
