Posting ins caps comes across as shouting so please can you hit that caps keys :D

To your problem - They might say that they are OOS and now the SEL is correct you cannot have a TV. Your best option is always keep the item and then ring HO.

Am I right in thinking that you have bought products which were over priced, then taken them to the customer service desk and got a full refund and kept the products? Tesco then forgot to mark on your reciept that you had been given a full refund and so you now plan to take the products back again tomorrow and say that you have been over charged and want a refund because they won't know that you have already been given a full refund?

Box should scan at 20.94 as that is the correct price for it but bottles on their own scan at 20.94 but often found on the sel at 19.15 = R&R, check the barcode with the 19.15 sel against the box

My free bottles didn't have the same barcode as the £19.xxx Sel - the CS woman checked it - but didn't argue and gave me my money with a smile (albeit thru gritted teeth). If the boxes are the only NV Moet on the shelf (ie no bottles without boxes) and there is a £19.xxx Sel under them, does the barcode really affect the issue ? Customers aren't expected to read barcodes (some probably don't even realise its significance) - I would have given this one a go !

[B:T ]HI ALL, MANAGED TO FIND THE 32" BUSH TV TODAY WITH ASEL OF 499 AND WAS CHARGED 549, THEY HAD LOTS OF BOXES OUT FOR THIS TV, I PAID FOR IT AND WENT TO CUSTOMER SERVICES TO BE TOLD IT WAS OUT OF STOCK, CONSEQUENTLY I WAS OFFERED A FULL REFUND, I ASKED TO SEE THE MANAGER AS THE CSA TOLD ME THEY HAD BEEN TOLD BY A MANAGER TO LEAVE THE BOXES OUT ALTHOUGH THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY. I TOLD THE MANAGER IWAS NOT HAPPY THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED ESPECIALLY AS I HAD BEEN OVERCHARGED AND WOULD OF RECEIVED A FULL REFUND IF THE TV WAS INSTOCK AS IT WAS A R&R AND HE CONFIRMED THIS. I LEFT WITH A REFUND AND HE SAYS THEY WILL BE CALLING ME TOMMOROW, WHAT ARE MY CHANCES, CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME, CHEERS? [/B]

Well I would say that it is just a matter of going in and collecting your TV, it isn't a discontinued item and they will be getting it back in store, call back and arrange collection.

good spot and well done !

Stores treat r&r like a REFUND and therefore treat the product you retain like one bought from another store thereafter ..... however they should really treat the r&r like a goodwill gesture, but you SHOULD still be able to bring the product back for a full exchange or a refund were it faulty or unfit for it's purpose. But because 99.9% of stores do NOT view r&r in this manner, the only products one is able to return, are those which haven't had their corresponding receipts marked "refund".

In my opinion you should be able to return ANY r&r'ed product really, as it is Tesco policy to accept returns within 28days without the product being faulty. (e.g. when you buy somebody a present which they already own, then tesco let you return it with the receipt for a full exchange or refund within 28days .... indeed in certain cases they will extend the 28 day period as a gesture of goodwill - eg. at peak periods like Christmas).

I don't think golden r&r is a crime, even though I haven't personally benefitted from it much as it happens

If I read his post right ...
He paid for the TV, went to collect it/wait for it to turn up at CS.
At this point they suddenly say "its out of stock". Here have a refund.

He can't leave with the item because they haven't let him have it even though they took his money.

This seems to be a common theme with these TVs.
They do have the stock its just they realise the problem between you paying and collecting and get sneaky.
  • hi, thanks for the help everyone, sorry about the caps, when i went back to the tv with the manager there was an out of stock sticker next to it, i think it was probably there before i paid, but the dvd cases were all there. i think i could have problems with this one.
