Whats the deal on consumer recovery specialists?

Options
I would like to know if anyone has used the services of a third party to recover their bank charges, has anyone used the services of a company called Robertson Holbrook, who claim to be such a company.

You shouldn't need the help of this type of company. You can do it all yourself with the guides on here. Just follow them carefully.

And of course, we will all do our best to support you at every stage of the process (and we don't charge anything).

Has anyone used a company to reclaim their charges on their behalf? I have started the process of reclaiming the charges of both mine and my oh's accounts. We have successfully won one of them. However, I am finding it time consuming and, with poorly children in the house, I can't get round to completing the processes. I think it is going to be easier to get a company to do the remaining two on my behalf.

Can anyone recommend a company that they have used?

Personally I wouldn't use a company to recover charges. Is there any other friends/family that can help out? You can always ask any questions you have on here.
  • Which parts do you find time consuming?
    Targets for 2014 :

    OP mortgage £18000

    Pay £4260 into ISA
  • Please don't use a company. They will just take some of YOUR money. What part do you need help with? I've reclaimed one already and have court dates for the other three (two of them had hearings involved), I might be able to help.

Please, don't use a company - the whole point of claiming your charges back is to get it back from a company who didnt deserve it and were overcharging, by letting a company do it you are allowing a company to take money for something you can do yourself. Don't be daunted by all the jargon and whats to come, each case is different. I'm a little housewife, no fancy university education and i managed to get £1430 back from my bank, have helped sort out my husbands account and started court proceedings today for him.
You will get all the advice you need from us, we are a bunch of friendly people and love helping people claim money from the banks, we offer advice and encourage others as a united front against these large banks who have held us to ransom long enough with their bully boy antics, now its time the consumer fought back. If i can be of further help feel free to PM me. All the best!!!

  • I'd love to claim back late fee's and charges from my credit cards and bank account!

A little worried about all the going to court talk I must admit.. I's rather not!

I am currently supposed to be giving details to a solicitor regarding an incident where another vehicle drove into my car as I was stationary and the other drive wont accept liability.. Not only am i worried ive lost my no claims.. but ive paid 375 excess fee, my insurance will rocket and if i take them to court and lose. I have to pay THEIR court fees! :(! and I dont want to go to court!

maybe i'm being a wimp? with both of these things...
I've never had to deal with much with banks or insurance companies and i have no body to ask.
so help would be greatly appriciated (sorry for going a bit off topic! )
  • If you read Martin's article here, he mentions three companies at the bottom of the article that will do the reclaim for you. Obviously there are fees involved and as always do your own research as regards the companies mentioned.
  • Has anyone used one? If so, how did you get on?

It seems to me (reading this board) that most of the claims made personally, are not fully repaid, never mind with interest. If these firms can get the whole amount (keeping the interest as their payment) surely it would be worthwhile to use them?

    Or am I missing something?
