  • Hi, has something changed with regards to the refunds as we received the £250 goodwill payment earlier in the year. I'm just wondering why customers seem to be getting refunds again. Have i missed something?

Our mortgage started in July 2007 on a fixed rate of 5.25% then we went onto SVR September 2010.

    Thanks

    lilly,

I think some people have had payments earlier in the year, but I think in their initial sweep of customers they missed some, me being one of them, we don't get our decisions and calculations until after the 22nd December.

hi ciara, well done great result, are you still with them or is your mortgage elsewhere? Still waiting to hear but we were told calculation wouldn't be done until at least the 22nd December so we'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah i'm waiting with baited breath as i'm hoping for a fair wee bit of compensation for this, if we had known at the time of the increase in 2008 we could've moved to a cheaper rate when the house was worth what it is supposed to be and before defaulting on a CC so therefore credit rating would've been better at that time and we would've gotten a lower rate at the time with other lenders, so therefore paying about 3% less for the last three years, no doubt they won't see it that way though.

  • hi everyone,

Yes Mortgage is still with Halifax. Took out Mortgage in May 2005 was on fixed rate of 5.89% then took further advance in 2008 approx i think (need to hoak out documents). phoned back on wednesday as still hadnt received cheque but they said that it had been posted on tuesday so as im in Northern Ireland im expecting a wee delay!!

i think that the halifax had reviewed their customers account and i think the second batch is maybe further advance customers and/or moving onto new deal with the time specified! im not complaining! Mortgage payments are £400 a month and all up to date so taking the cheque and running lol! two small children to feed and cloth is expensive work!!

Yeah I hear ya in regards to the kids, I got told twice, once on phone and once in branch the money had to go to mortgage, but I argued with them saying that it's getting classed as an overpayment that I may not have wanted to pay to my mortgage and would rather have the money, so we'll see what happens when we get the letter and take it from there.
