As xyellowx said - I gave em a call. The gentleman I spoke to stated that I was not on the correct version of the mortgage goodwill contract, however I pointed out that we were, because we had a revised mortgage offer within the specified dates and it was v2 2004 and that was the one we took out.
He went and looked into it and said that there are some exceptional circumstances where some of the mortgages might have been overlooked, and they may have too look deeper at some mortgages. He said if I don't hear anything by the end of april to ring em back. Does that mean I should charge them an extra months worth of interest on the money they've taken from us all? I asked them to put a flag on it now that I've rung up to look into it. Whether it happened thats another story.
So I reckon everyone who had a previous offer, got a new offer, or any other funny story to tell when they took their mortgage out I'd give em a ring! I guess I feel sorry for people who don't know theyre entitled to the compensation, and then don't ring up asking for it. Halifax will be laughing their way to their free money. Surely there would be court case then!0 -
So i gave them another call and the not so nice man has disappointed me. He said that because i was still on a fixed rate on the 1st of January 2009 , and did not come onto the SVR until the June of 2009 this will not apply to me. I am a bit miffed. I was so sure that this would apply to me as well. Oh well.0

I personally think he was telling you porkies. We didn't go onto SVR until nov 2009.0 -
So you received some goodwill even though you weren't on the SVR on January 2009. I hope you are right. It was very frustrating talking to him, since he just kept repeating himself and wouldn't really entertain listening to me.0

From reading the articles halifax have written and even MSE's article I believe our mortgage is one due compensation even though it'll be a small amount any road due to the interest difference. Nope I'm afraid we have not received any comp yet, but I'll let you know when we do.
I think its a waiting game though. They've got whilst the end of april, as we knew this beforehand.
Our 5yr fix start dec 2004 finished dec 2009. We went onto SVR and have been on it ever since. I assume this is is similar to yours but 6 months earlier from what you previously wrote.0 -
I went on to the SVR in March 2009.
Best of luck0 -
Has anyone had a letter yet who no longer have a mortgage with the bank? We changed mortgage provider two months ago so have no mortgage account for them to pay a goodwill gesture but do meet the criteria.0

I paid mine off last August. According to Halifax I'm due a payout. I called today to check and was told the letters are being sent out in batches of 35,000 a day.0

Can anyone help me with this. We got a letter yesterday stating a measly £250 was credited.
We pay £694 per month on our mortgage. How do I work it all out? Surely I am owed more than £250? I really understand it but dissapointed with £250 considering we were obviously mis sold this!
Any help?
