Only just discovered this thread!
This was a couple of years ago now but I ordered a piece of fresh fennel and got...30+ jars of Fennel Seeds. It was Sainsbury's so not price matched and some £40 more expensive than the fennel bulb I'd ordered.
Not sure who was more embarrassed, the woman I spoke to at Sainsbury's who couldn't believe the mistake, or me, for having a husband that had accepted them as a substitute.
How thick was the shopper that picked your order?0 -
My friend who runs a nursery ordered 20+ small Easter eggs in various designs for the children, but got sent 2 large Easter eggs!0

Last straw substitution with Asda was a pot of jelly instead of jelly cubes - not easy to make a trifle from! I can't remember their others - I just got fed up of never being sure what was going to arrive.
Changed to Tesco and so far (touch wood) we really haven't had any substitutions. That's just jinxed it I'm sure!!Re-mortgaged 20/04/12 MTiT-T3 No.7Start balance £89611.10 + £22500 = £112111.10/Current balance £85436.53

These are so funny!
I have nothing nearly as funny but I once ordered some small tubs of extra light Philadelphia and received baby bells instead. Not very diet friendly and they taste like plastic so I sent them back.0 -

I have been feeling really down this week but this thread hads had me laughing out loud. The one grape substitution is hilarious. Just the thought of someone picking and packing 1 grape makes me hysterical with laughter :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0

im going to take the fun out this now but you can't always blame the picker, for some reason the other week at our store, one poor woman got a cucumber which was what came up on the palm pilot instead of the beef joint that she ordered. somehow it must have registered the wrong bar code on the system, so as far as the picker knew a cucumber was what was ordered.0 -
My Indian friend got a melon instead of a mango (not so good for chutney) and pinot grigio instead of petis filous (which was for the baby and they are non-drinking Muslims):eek:0

I think I may of hit the jackpot I was the drivers last drop of so he presumed the last couple of bags loose were mine- he passed them over 4 bottles of shloer, one bottle of champagne (no idea what kinda type not a champagne person!) 1 pack of 12 coca cola and another of lemonade. I told him these were not mine, he checked the receipt thing and agreed. However, he said to just keep them as a 'mistake' felt terrible as it was a summery time and BBQ as well as World Cup time. How someone hadn't noticed it all missing I will never know!!!I survived a brain injury :j but it means my posts may be a bit backwards or mixed up, would prefer to be related to  but fraid not.0
