What would happen in this scenario? I buy a couple of bottles of bubbly that are comparable according to the Tesco site, do the price check, Tesco come out more expensive so I get my DTD voucher, then realise oops, I already have two bottles in the back of the cupboard, could I then return the surplus bottles and receive a full refund for the bubbly AND get to keep and use my DTD voucher?

In theory, this would work - but only if your store staff haven't been trained properly and fail to mark your original receipt. I suppose its a bit like the old R&R 'golden' thing. Its probably classed as fraudulent though and might well get you into trouble - even if your conscience doesn't stop you.

Forgot to say, you'd have to use your voucher first and hope they didn't mark it before getting the refund. Personally I reckon this would really be taking the p***>

I wouldn't actually have the front to do this! Was just interested to see if Tescos have really thoroughly covered themselves with this DTD thing.

Plus I'm 36 weeks pregnant...bubbly is not permitted in this house atm! :( Was just curious as I noticed from earlier in the thread, there's quite a significant difference in price on a particular bottle!

Tbh this whole price checker thing has made me seriously reconsider shopping at Tescos...people on this thread have done shops costing pretty much double at Tesco than if they'd shopped at Asda...for the exact same stuff. I think Tesco are taking the P*** to charge that much extra! The ONLY thing keeping me with Tesco is the clubcard scheme as Asda/morrisons don't offer loyalty cards do they?
  • I am normally all over a bargain.. seen the adverts for this price comparison but not really looked into it but reading your opsts I cannot believe I am missing out... but being abit blonde here I am total confused as where to start - I shop at Tesco every week spending between 100 - 150 (dont ask what on ... always amazes me how much I spend for what little I get being as there's only 3 of us ..) so please would I do my shop as normal and they update my bill or do I need to log into Tesco via another route to see this... I did click on an earlier link and saw the little price comparison box so just typed in Lenor just to see what happened and it shows all the prices etc... but ... what next ? I would order it and they would price check it or I order it and then send them my on line bill... sorry to sound really dim but I just cannot get my head around this ...:(
If its a case I send them my bill to price check ... would my last Fridays one still be valid for checking ? thanks for your help in this... :embarasse

Go to www.tesco.com/pricecheck and click on the button to check your shopping.
Just follow the instructions and input your receipt details.
Tesco will do the comparison for you and email you with the result within 36 hours.
If your shopping would have been cheaper at Asda they send you a link to print a voucher for double the difference in price.
You can use this voucher next time you shop.

Some people are taking it to extreme and only buying stuff that is dearer in Tesco to get double the difference back in a voucher. :money:

If you just do it with your usual shopping, the chances are you wont get as big a voucher back. This is because if you shop wisely and use the BOGOF etc then you will probably find that your shopping is cheaper at Tesco or not much in it :o
  • remember that asda are stating that they are cheapest so the tesco prices can be used to scam asda too!!

example 160 pg tea bags were £4.25 lastnight Asda was £3.00..
so costing tesco £2.50 in price promise vouchers

Tesco have now reduced these to £2.10 today and so are now cheaper than asda by 90p

this is an example of how bitter this battle is getting

go to asda and buy for £3.00 and asda have to give you the difference 90p +10% so you get for under £2 a box!!!!

This is gonna get nasty if they continue to fight...

check out the washing powder war 54 wash liquid for £4 -£6

    they are hammering one another:rotfl:

I know tesco will take asda's price guarantee vouchers,
I wonder if asda will take tesco's price check vouchers?
then I could go back and forth between them :-P
