If you are like me, the nearest Asda is over 30 miles away so what I MAY save in shopping i'd pay for in petrol and to be perfectly honest I have never found one supermarket cheaper or more expensive than another. One will have Chips 50p cheaper but the cod will be more expensive and one will have eggs 20p more but the other will have bacon 20p cheaper.

Swings and roundabout with supermarkets.

If you only buy what you need to buy, eat what you buy, dont waste your food then you'll be quids in straight away.

make a list of what food you throw away every week, you'll be surprised (and maybe horrified).

If you are shopping at Tesco, then it is worthwhile putting your receipt details on the pricecheck website. You may be very pleasantly surprised at the results. After all, it doesn't hurt to try, and you may get a voucher for your trouble.;)

I made a 20.24 shop in tesco on sunday the same shop in asda would have cost me £10 so looking forward to a £20.48 voucher my best item was 50p in asda and £1.35 in tesco (21% of the voucher for that item is profit) just a pity i missed out on the easter eggs that were £2 in asda and £6 in tesco.

look out for things that are 2 for 1 in tesco and half price in asda and take advantage of the 10 voucher limit and just buy 1 from tesco

for example the easter eggs that were £2 in asda were 2 for £8 in tesco
so do 2 shops of 1 £6 egg spend £12 total and get £16 in vouchers (16-12=4 profit + 2 free eggs)
do one shop of 2 eggs £8 total and get a £8 voucher (8-8= 2 free eggs)

I have just done a £55.27 shop at tesco tonight consisting of items i have found cheaper at Asda.... having done my homework before i went to tesco

I kept my freebie shopping seperate from my other shopping to avoid tesco from comparing the total..as asda do..


When i got home i signed into asda.com and entered all of the items in the shopping basket and printed this off..this is proof that asda was selling the items cheaper today!!

I have a refund of £34.56 to come..not including easter eggs as i too spotted tesco have removed them!!

Although this dont matter as tesco will compare any grocery item as long as asda sell it!! Customer service confirmed this!!

A few of the items as examples for you!!

2lt Pepsi normal, diet and Max, ....£1.79 in Tesco £1 in Asda... = Tesco 79p more so double difference refund = £1.58...so you get pepsi for 21p

500g Kellogs cornflakes ..£1.98 in Tesco...£1 in Asda..= Tesco 98p more = £1.96 refund so you get cornflakes for 2p

Kellogs variety pack..tesco £1.99 Asda £1 so tesco have to refund £1.98..you get these for 1p

in the freezer...Mccain salt and black pepper wedges £1.85 at tesco £1 at asda thats £1.70 refund from Tesco

I brought 160 pg pyramids..tesco £4.25..asda £3..another £2.50

This will kill one supermarket as asda and tesco are slashing prices so hard...once tesco confirm my prices i am going to push for them to stand by their promise and lower companywide all theyre prices..as what they are stating is clearly misleading..

They have shown that they check asda prices along with sainsburys on theyre price checker but they are failing to match or beat asda once they have checked the prices..

go to tesco.com and use the online pricechecker all the work has been done for you..you just pick out the items that asda beat tesco on...

customer service told me they would match electricals too..i have spotted that tesco was selling a braun professional 1000 toothbrush for £59.99 asda £29.99..thats £60 refund...tesco have pulled this from theyre website...as they have shown on theyre pricechecker that they were selling it for the higher price.


Tesco cannot keep up with asda as clearly asda can reduce items tommorow for £1 and tesco have to bear the loss when us savvy shoppers do them for double...

The time has come for us to hammer tesco!!!!:money:

Martin this is something you should be championing and ensuring that tesco play fair,.....as it is clear from us members that they are manipulating this to suit them.

Remember when you shop come home and enter all your shopping on the asda.com site and print the shopping basket,this is our proof that will stop tesco from ripping us off!!!

In fairness it seems Tesco ARE playing fair from what has been happening so far with vouchers, although a few n/f which are inexplicable. Remember tho that the items you are buying are more expensive at Tesco than Asda so the aren't 'free' eg the Easter eggs as they are overpriced to start with. If you weren't going to buy them anyway then ask yourself what you are doing!

If you carefully select items, buy to get a voucher, then use that voucher plus a few pence to buy more dtd stuff you could actually grow your voucher as some items are MORE than double the price in Tesco! So although you spend out say £20 initially you can just recycle the voucher without spending much more money, generating a new voucher each time! If you select the items you buy carefully that is, and put any offers through separately.

Its awesome, I think MSE'rs are a bit slow on the uptake on this.

I plan on saving my last voucher for march (this calender month) it's good for 28 days to spend in april (next calender month) to start my £100 of april vouchers

I have just skim read this thread as I only just heard about this offer, so please excuse my stupid question, but how do you actually get the voucher? do you enter the till receipt online and they then e-mail you the voucher which you then print off and spend? I just did a comparison on the pricechecker and reckon I could pay £47.48 for my shopping (which I actually do need) in tesco and, according to the Tesco pricechecker it would cost £27.24 in Asda so that would mean I would get a voucher for £40.48. This seems too good to be true to me.

And yes, they email you 24-36 hours later with alink to print your voucher:)
