Tesco Biggest Offer Ever

Be aware that both Tesco and Asda have changed prices on their websites since yesterday.
If you are going shopping tomorrow and the pricechecker website is updated/corrected before you go you may not be as well off as you thought
My advice is to check prices on the store website before you shop.
Does anyone know what time of day the pricechecker is updated?
Thanks
Andrea
I think the 'check a product' section is updated on weekdays - probably as someone at Tesco needs to update it.
'check your shopping' will reflect the day on which the purchase was made0 -
I had a great result with my :j 'careful' shopping which resulted in a £40 voucher meaning all my items from yesterday were free:T and they also gave me a small profit on top.:T
I have just been and spent the voucher on more of the same items plus a few more selected picks, so hopefully my next voucher will be almost double.:T:T
I have taken screenshots of all the items from the Tesco price checker website with my computers time and date clock showing clearly on the same screenshot (their page says prices checked as 4th March)
I am being careful to pay in cash, not use a clubcard and use different e-mails, although I may get the points added on once I have used my voucher.
Please watch out for some of the price changes from tomorrow eg Ariel xl with Febreeze 1036ml shows on Tesco grocery site as going on offer from tomorrow. I carefully checked all my items first on both websites before shopping and avoided anything that is due to change tomorrow

This is just a shame that this is only temporary!
Another question, for example of a random product, ASDA price is £1 but Tesco is £1.50 or 2 for £2. I buy two of the items at Tesco, is the price checker smart enough to not give any voucher because the price is £1 because I have bought two? I expect it is.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Yep - It works out what the same shopping would have cost in Asda.
It does work out if you've bought anything in Tesco that was on multisaver in Asda though so to extend your example...
Product A is £0.90 in Tesco and £1.00 or 2 for £1.50 in Asda.
If you buy 2 in Tesco @ 2 x £0.90 = £1.80 you'd get a voucher, as 2 would have cost you £1.50 in Asda.0 -

Just bear in mind that there is at least one Tesco 'person' on here - it may not be wise to list the various ways in which you are getting around the T&C's. I'm not saying don't milk the system - just saying don't go into too much detail about it!ELITE 5:2

Johnoblong - thanks for your input on here, its been very helpful - can you tell us please, are you here in an "official" capacity or just being somebody helpful that happens to work for te$co? - (in other words are you browsing this thread during work time or during your own time?)
Helix - if you get a voucher from an online shop, you can redeem it in store and vica versa.
mwbrown - you give the voucher to the delivery driver and show him your receipt, the money is then later deducted from the price of your shopping IN THEORY lol. (hopefully the driver doesnt forget to knock it off the price of your shopping - or youve got to start trying to prove to customer services that you gave the driver a coupon!)0 -
thanks for the info puddings.....
Should have another voucher coming 2morrow for about £35 and ive got a £10 goodwill gesture to spend, so thought about doing an online order this time (save time trailing round tesco with 3 yr old daughter..).0 -

Odd that the T&C's say otherwise:Where the original purchase was made in store, vouchers can be redeemed in any Tesco store. Where the original purchase was made online, the voucher can only be redeemed for online grocery purchases.0 -

I think it needs pointing out that your items yesterday weren't 'free' as you paid cold hard cash and paid twice what they are in Asda! If you spent £40 on stuff that would cost £20 in Asda you got a £40 voucher but that cost you £20, because the first shop was twice the price it could be obtained for elsewhere. So in reality, even if you would have bought those items in Asda anyway, and that is going to be a big IF in some cases here, you effectively ended up getting them for the price you should have paid in Asda (not free) and effectively bought a £40 Tesco voucher for £20.
Just be careful. This offer isn't as good as it first seems. Its good, but don't forget that (a) you are paying out twice what you should in cold hard cash and (b) you then get back a voucher to spend in Tesco, not a refund. Vouchers don't pay the mortgage.
It just worries me people buying stuff they wouldn't buy normally at twice the price it is elsewhere. If I had a pound for every pound I'd lost, I'd be confused0 -

Sorry, don't agree - the OP referred to a 'gesture of goodwill' voucher. These vouchers, would need to be entered in the voucher section, when doing the next Grocery Home Shopping order.
It is the 'price-check' vouchers that are handed to the driver - he should endorse the receipt.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0
