Can you buy more than one item the same? For example the Banrock station wine? I was thiniing of buying 5 (then I wont confuse the issue with the case discount) but don't want to end up with 5 bottles of wine owing 50 squibs!

Multiples are fine - but make sure first that Tesco don't have the item on a multibuy offer or it will knacker your results!!!

I know asda say you need to have a minimum of 8 different items in your basket for their price match to work.
Dont know if buying only the one type of wine at tesco will work if you get nothing else. I know it says at least half of the items must be comparable, but have there to be a minimum number of different items on the receipt as well, like at asda???
  • thanks. maybe its best to order a handful of different wines then, then they can't argue that they are the same.
    Lead us not into temptation...

just tell us where it is and we'll find it....
  • Another question......if I go do a shop today, will tesco compare the prices for the day I bought them (ie todays prices) or compare them with the day they check the receipt (ie monday?)

I'm worried that I'll buy a load of stuff today and then asda will change the prices monday scuppering my DTD voucher!

  • I've just checked the Tesco Price check website to see the prices of Lurpak butter slightly salted 500g, its says Tesco = £2.80, Sainburys = £2.80 and Asda = not found. I bought this in Asda yesterday its on special offer at £1.50 bit sus me thinks.

Just wondered if anyone else is having a problem entering their receipt details.
Both on my laptop and desktop pc I cannot enter anything in the 4th box from the left hand side ie the hour figure for the time the cursor won't even appear in the box.
I can enter the required info in all the other boxes.
    Any ideas?

Surfer, just had the same problem.

I pressed submit, it then had an error message saying there was a problem with the data submitted & the time boxes were red, it then allowed me to enter the time, even though the cursor still wouldn't appear in the box.

    Hope this helps.

    puddings:
I've not much sympathy for the people who get so disappointed when they receive their "results" and find some items on the receipt havent been compared:
    1)write a shopping list
2)look on tescopricecheck.com to see if the things on your list are comparable.
    3)THEN go buy
    4)no nasty surprises

but why should we have to check first if things like carrots and cornflakes are comparable its ridiculous-of course they are they jsut dont want to compare them

im not saying at all that its right so many items are n/f, especially things like carrots and cornflakes that in my opinion really should be... what im saying is think of it like a game, one that tesco created and they are entitled to make as many rules as they want, and if they choose to then Tesco are entitled to make it as difficult as possible for customers to be able to win...
BUT so long as they tell us all the "rules" in advance (which they have done), and so long as they play the game to the same rules that they tell us (and so far i think they've done that) and so long as the give us a way to know if we've "won or lost" before parting with any cash (which they have done), then I know the risks and i know the rewards... and i choose to play :-)
