Purchased a Durabrand breadmaker from Asda a couple of months ago unfortunately every loaf I have made has collapsed in the middle. I always appears to rise OK but then it collapses. I have tried all different types of white and wholemeal recipes and tried to follow the tips given in this forum but to no avail, I even get the same problem with the ready mixed bread kits that you can get from Tesco \ Asda etc.
I am now wondering whether the BM may be faulty and before taking it back to Asda wondered if anyone here had any thoughts on why I am having this problem

Hmm, I sometimes get that if I add too much water. As that is one of the constant things in all of your trials, are you sure you are measuring your water accurately?
Hope that helps,

There are a number of reasons why your bread may collapse other than having a faulty machine, ie too much liquid, too much yeast, no salt was added, the machine was in a draft or jolted (or someone may have peeked
). If the dough gets too warm during rising, which can happen if the water you use is too warm or the room itself is too warm (!). If the flour wasn't strong enough or of poor quality.
If you are certain none of the above factors could have caused the dough to collapse, then it may well be due to a faulty machine.
Refer back to your instructions which came with the machine too and see if there might be some advice on siting/using the machine which you may have overlooked. Also, are you using the measuring spoons/cup which came with your machine? Are you following the recipes given with your particular machine?
Mine isn't a Durabrand, it's exactly the same but has an unpronouncable name and came from Wilko's in their sale a few years ago now and is still producing excellent results. I do occasionally have a collapsed loaf, but all I do then, is cut off the top to make it even and continue to slice the loaf that way round  Any 'disasters' get used up one way or another, so nothing is ever wasted.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
