  • Hi, i notice your fraud was to a company called Eurobet, there are numerous other members on here all with the same problem, you haven't by any chance bought anything from shopneo.

It may be totally different, just with you mentioning Eurobet it makes me wonder. There are a few threads about the shopneo problem (i am not implying this is shopneo's fault): HERE and HERE.

No, I haven't bought from them before thankfully, although I now know what it feels like to have money stolen from your a/c.

Does anyone know what is the minimum amount of information that is required for a scammer to sucessfully use your cards? I registered a dummy a/c on this Eurobet site just to see what info they ask for (name, address, card number, expiry, CVV etc). Is address info required to authenticate the transaction?

I'm still worried I won't get my money back!

I was contacted by Barclays fraud service on monday regarding some fraudulant transaction in my account. After i confirmed that I had not made such transactions (£139 on Bet24) they cancelled by card and told me to shred it which I have done...

They then sent me a new card which i received on friday and contacted them. They said that i should check my online account to see if everything is normal but i noticed that between monday and friday my online account showed that me balance had changed (gone down) even though i had not used my card...

I then contacted the bank again and they have said that I should go to my bank print out my statement. Then speak to a personal banker/advisor or phone up the fraudulant transactions service...

My main question is I am guaranteed to get this money bank as I urgently need it as a student to pay for car insurance : ( ??? NB: I am goin to the bank tomorrow (monday)

You should be covered because the bank actually cancelled your card last Monday, so unless you have DD's etc linked to your card /current account, then you should be ok. Be aware that DD type payments will be taken from your account even if your card has been cancelled - you'd have to contact the organisation that you'd arranged the DD with (not your bank) in order to change/cancel it.
  • This happened to me not too long ago.

I have my own letter box but for some reason the postman must have used the shared one and I never received my card at all or pin.

I find out later that £400 had been WITHDRAWN from my account in CASH.

It was an up hill battle with Halifax but got their in the end because the money was withdrawn only 2 days after beiing issued. I was supposed to receive my card in 3-5 working days.

I think it was the postman personally.

And Im here to add to this non dying thread. Ive recently had my account used fradulently.

I checked my bank statement today(online) and saw that it said that nearly £70 had gone to a pharmaceutical company. I know that fraudsters can sometimes use camera's, so me being paranoid, I cover my pin up EVERY time I use an ATM machine(even indoors)

I suspect that Ive been a victim of scam artists using chassis to put on to an ATM machine in order to get at the card details.

I immediately phoned Barclays, who have now cancelled my card and are issuing me with a new one. Fraud investigations will also be undergoing.

They say I should be refunded, once I complete a statement stating why I believe its been used fraudulently etc...

    Next time, Im going indoors

over the past 4 years or so, ive had £2000 nicked from my account. Nationwide have been great and refunded the money and sent me a replacement card. The card may have been cloned at some point at a petrol station and when i paid for goods over the phone.
  • My OH was very lucky a few weeks back as he had a call from HSBC fraud department. He has a mastercard and they informed he that his card was one of a few peoples who they believed may have been cloned so they immediately blocked the card and sent a new one, before any transactions occurred :D
  • My Lloyds account had just over £2000 taken from it about this time last year. Absolutely no idea how it happened as I didn't use it in any dodgy stores! Either way Lloyds got it back for me within a week and also gave me £10 at the beginning (which they eventually took back) so that I could buy my train ticket for they week. All I had to do was go over a big list of all the transactions and circle the ones that hadn't been done by me. At some point I also had to write out a statement about it, which was fairly easy to do as most of the purchases were for things to do with cars when I don't drive, and a few of them were done within five minutes of me using my real card - but in a different location about three hours away!

Happened to me with Lloyds who gave me money back within a few days, no problems. My main concern was that one of the purchases was for an internet !!!!!! subscription. Had Lloyds give me a letter stating it was fraud and not me just incase the site was of the very dodgy variety. Didn't want a Pete Townsend situation.

Bank holiday here and overdrawn.....marvellous,no access to funds and D/D's still to be paid (plus a recently sent hoilday cheque no doubt to bounce)......ahh the joy of returned items charges from the bank to top it all off.
