Well, i am glad i reminded you but shame you have got a fine. Ours are pretty good. Mine were due back on the 1st, and i wasn't charged today. I think they give you an extra week. They never used to. I am awful. I always have great intentions and then never get them back on time.

Just redeemed myself a bit after earlier spends.
    1. Been playing bingo - will be able to redeem my first voucher tomorrow now after a few wins.
    2. tol - done a new topic, and responded to a few people who left me messages. Not managed any surveys today though.
    3. yougov - 50 points survey, now up to 2675 on there. I've been a member a year now, so can't see a payout this year, but i will keep going with the longer term goal in mind.
    4. tea was a fairly cheap one. I bought some pork steaks in Mr T on 3 for £10. I got 6 steaks, so i took 2 and chopped them up. I then did a stir fry with some approved food straight to wok noodles and a sachet of black bean sauce. The kids wolfed it. (The other 4 steaks have been frozen in 2s, so i can repeat the meal twice.)
    5. Pudding was then Mr T basic ice cream with some very old approved food chocolate sauce. They all enjoyed it, and the cupboard relaxed a little at not having quite as much content any more.
Not doing much more now tonight. The kids and DH are just watching total wipeout so i will let them get on with that, but then i am going to watch a film on the telly with DH tonight (Taken) and have a glass or two of wine. I still need to keep knitting as DHs cousin's baby is due on the 10th and the blanket i am doing is about half done. I'll get a good chunk done tonight.

    Today I have done/will do:

    * went to the CS to buy a baby ball of wool (about 1/2 of a small ball) and pair of knitting needles - 60p so far cheaper than the shops.
    * RM daily data entry/posting and weekly return
    * a trip to the other CS with some clear out clutter to make more space in the house.
    * renew library books and get password for internet re-issued (like Michelle will avoid fines and also avoid book spends)
    * did my greggs comp - got another bogof croissant/pain au choc - I want some cash for bread instead!
    * tried to do the innocent juice comp but forgot my password
    * did my dorset cereals comp - never won yet but someday a prize from them will be mine :)

When I get home from hosp, maybe a weekend visit sometime in the not too distant future could be possible if I budget for it :), then I can do my best to help you with some basic stitches etc (and the tension :rotfl:) If you only got a very small ball of wool, I hope you bought short needles lol......personally I can't stand having long needles waving around all over the place when I only have a very small piece of knitting on the go ;). Got quite a few crochet hooks so check with me first before buying any more of them :D.

lobs a couple of quid for bread over as I can't bear to think of my DD without so much as a decent crust to her name!! :D:p

Your DF has been working on my wheelchair at home so I haven't been able to make my daily escape to M&S/Boots etc etc. Being stuck on the ward (which is effectively a geriatric one regardless of what the blurb says!) all day has made me realise how much I value getting away from it for a little while if only for a cuppa in the M&S cafeteria or just browsing.

Spoke to your DB today, he got beaten up by "some chavs" (his words, not mine) on his way home last night, took a kick in the head and has a savage headache but despite my pleading with him to get it checked he says he'll be fine.....hmmmm. Will we ever stop worrying about him???? Makes me wonder what on earth they were after, I mean he had no phone on him, no wallet, probably no cash, no jewellery, the only thing of value would have been his designer specs and thankfully he says they are undamaged. I guess there are morons everywhere

  • What have I done today?

    - Final coat on the bedroom ceiling (previous owners did not believe in white ceiling, either mustard or grey!)
    - Found out that I can pay cheques and cash into Post Office instead of going all the way into town!
    - Recieved a cheque from Musicmagpie (every little help)
    - Started on some odd jobs but then had visitors which cut short my days events.

    This weekend I have -

    - Done clicks/surveys
    - Found 5p and 50p on the pavement
    - Bought some crisps and biscuits (smartprice range) for pack ups for the next 2 weeks with a £2 giftcard I got from Asda when they overcharged me at Xmas
    - Bought some Silentnight seconds mattress protectors for £2.99 each from Home Bargains for cheaper than i'd budgeted for
    - Got 2 free showerheads that a water company were giving away in Ikea. They have a built in widget to save water.
    - Did a car insurance quote (£1.76 cashback on TCB with Go Compare) to see what i'll be looking to pay next month - cheapest is £90 dearer and even with cashback doesn't even bring it close to what I paid for this years - sob :(
    #39 - Save £12k in 2025

Glad you made the right choice re the 5p Courgette.

I didn't make it to CS2 yesterday, so I will have to fill up my granny style shopping trolley ready to do a drop-off this week.

I made bread last night rather than buying any. Low GI bread seems impossible to make cheaply :( It was a very easy recipe tho - 1/2 bag of spelt flour, a pile of seeds and nuts, fast acting yeast, all mixed together, water added then straight into oven, no prooving or kneading needed :) Problem is that spelt flour is £1.69 a bag and I can't find it cheaper than in the supermarkets unless I buy 25kg from the manufacturer - which would last me around 9 months+ and I can't imagine how to store it safely :(

I personally wouldn't have been able to leave that 5p - Id have come home and Op-ed it immediately! :) ( not on its own but part of an OP..I don't think the bank would like just 5p as a part payment towards the mortgage! )
    • Made a huge batch of HM tomato soup for DH to take to work for his lunch
    • Signed up for shop and scan - we'll see if I'm accepted there
    • Tweeked my dentist budget and op'd £17 from it. Opps!
    • Hung my washing out to dry for the first time this year
    • Planned next weeks menu so I don't have to buy (hardly ) any shopping
I can't be bothered updating this anymore

    3. 'won' another bogof with Greggs
    4. spotted a lot of quidco transactions all seem to be validating at last...just need them to hurry up now and pay up!!
