Bumping as I enjoy reading peoples' posts on this thread;
This week I redeemed £6 from P!n3cone
£25 from Springboard surveys
£40 from Onepoll
Bottled up 37 bottles of blackberry wine, made some jam and cordial too, all blackberries picked from local area
Picked some elderberries for more wine plus apples and pears for crumbles
Auctioned some of my mums antiques that she'd asked me to declutter for her. (Found out Antiques Road Trip will be filming at the actual auction so am going along for a nosey. Never been to an auction before, am excited)
Harvested potatoes, runner beans and tomatoes from the garden, potted some rosemary from next doors bush thats growing over our fence
Picked out new kitchen cupboards and worktop and sink as kitchen desperately needs updating. Thankfully the cupboards were 50% off and the sink comes with a free tap online. Also thankful we have the money for this from the bills account accumulating.
Oh, redeemed a £10 next voucher from Consumer Pulse so will get something nice for new kitchen I think.
Think thats it for now. Hope this thread can be revived again#39 - Save £12k in 20250 -

Yesterday for me too - switched energy suppliers gas and elecy so will save ~£210 over the year plus £30 cashback.
Also pre-paid phone line rental (last month) so saved £50 over the year.
Will also be looking at phones come Jan - as I've realized DW and mine are due for renewal. May just try and get a 'shared' sim only deal as our phones are still doing absolutely ok. Could be feasible to save ~£20 a month here!Mortgage Jan 2013 £116677

Have a look at Giffgaff, they do some very good sim only deals and they are nice and cheap. They use the o2 masts for signal so i have never had any issues on that front either.Mortgage Free 22/03/17

JimLad how much hassle is air bnb? I've never stayed in one, but toyed with the idea of letting out my spare room. I live in a nice area on the edge of the Peak District and there's no accommodation in our village.
What do you offer? Is it just bed and breakfast? Do they need access to their own bathroom? Do you just let them in and give them a set of keys to the front door? I've always wondered how it works if people are actually living in the house at the same time.

Thanks!
Its such easy money im a bit annoyed at myself for not discovering it earlier!
Most people are just using our house as a place to sleep and they dont often use the facilities like the kitchen / living room.
We have an en suite for our room so the main bathroom of the house is offered as a "private" bathroom for the guests. You dont need to have this but i guess its just a good selling point to make them book you over someone else.
We both work, so if someone is arriving on a week day we make sure they know they cant check in before 6pm and have to check out before 8am. Then when they turn up if they are staying for more than one night we give them a key to the front door.
We only have cereal avaliable for breakfast. Just bought some Lidl wheatabix and leave it out on the side for them.
After they leave we change the sheets on the bed and just give a little clean and tidy to the room and bathroom.
Living in such a beautiful part of the country your going to have loads of tourists to stay with you? We get lots as live on the edge of the cotswolds
