Everyone is welcome and I hope you have fun :-)
Tesco Dorittos are just as good! Try grating cheese over them and putting them under the grill for 2 minutes. LUSH.
Oh yea.. they are gorgeous that way... Mr Shortie adds on leftover chilli mix too if we have it, but I prefer the crispie cheesey tortillas instead. MMMmmmmm
That's great about the OT JimLad, and the YouTube earning (not that I have a clue how the earnings work, lol - is it down to sponsership payout per views? or for having ads on your vids? or becasue you link to YouTube vids from a blog?)
So, I'm not sure how well the MF side (ie overpayments) will be going for a while as I'm now planning on saving as hard as I can for building work to reduce the size of a 'potential' loan as much as possible (we're talking about a lot of building work, not just something small) but it's still important for me that I keep motivated with you guys
So today was payday:
- Penultimate payment made into the self-assessment tax savings (so they are ready for my 2013-14 return). Last payment of council tax that you don't pay in March will top the savings off when that hits the current account
- Will be taking some money out later today and then again tomorrow to put aside as spending money for our holiday in the summer - this month should be last that we need to save for that, which will stop a panic come the time
- Tommorrow DS1 has an op and so tonight Mr Shortie and I will get our food ready to take with us - current plan is a thermos of hot water for tea and coffee, cheese sarnies and soup in another thermos flaskApril 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

Saved £1 leaving 30 mins later for the gym and parking at a cheaper carpark opposite the slightly more convenient one (and by that I mean LITERALLY a couple of minutes closer to the gym).
That's been my only spend today out of my allocated £10 a day

Once you get to a certain level of views you can have google adverts on your videos. It is paid in to your adsense account and they send it to your bank every time you earn £60. Its a nice little earner! Give it a go!Mortgage Free 22/03/17

Aaahhh - I had no idea how it worked - thanks JimLad. Though I doubt I have anything worthy of watching, lol. My youngest loves trawling on there for videos of other people playing the games he likes though so I expect he might be helping to earn people a few pennies as he goes along
So, this weekend we were all in and out of the kitchen cooking up a storm..
- On Friday we had a shop and got in stroe cupboard bits. We also bought in a lot of locally butchered meat.
- Over the weekend we cooked up 2 lasagnes, each doing two dinners (so 16 portions in total) and then bulked up the leftovers with beans etc for 3 dinners worth of chilli (ie 12 portions) This was from 1kg good quality locally sourced mince
- My children both made some fresh bread rolls - I've just munched one with an el-cheapo soup for lunch in work. Yum
- Made up the cupcakes for DS1's birthday party next week - they're not ready and waiting in the freezer)
- Made up a load of cookies and cupcakes, took half to a friend's on Saturday who fed us our dinner
- the rest of the cakes, plus half of the blue berry muffins that I then cooked on Sunday went in the freezer
So we have a few cakes in the freezer for the boys packed lunches, some muffins in there for the freezer, some Twinks Hobnobs left for munchies (some in work with me already) and a few cakes left to me munched that aren't in the freezer
That should reduce the packed lunch spends, and well as give an alternative to my porridge for breakfast, and bits to curb the afternoon munchies and stop me raiding the vending machine (she hopes!)
We've menu planned the next two week's dinner to stop the 'whoops, we forgot to take something out of the freezer - take out?' that sometimes hits.
I made the (hopefully) last transfer today in to my 2013-14 self assessment tax savings fund today so that felt pretty good as well as taking the last of the cash out today for our August holiday too - phew!April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -

How do your fitbit steps get you points for high street vouchers? I love my fitbit but haven't found a way to make money from it yet0 -

Thats one of the things I do! haha. Along with a few technology reviews of anything I happen to get my hands on. My best viewed video at the moment is a review of a pressure washer! Showing how to plug it in and demo'ing it on my carWe've menu planned the next two week's dinner to stop the 'whoops, we forgot to take something out of the freezer - take out?' that sometimes hits.
We are always doing that!!!Mortgage Free 22/03/17

This month i have had my first guests from AirBnB which is a website that allows you to rent out your spare bedroom on a nightly basis. We have had two guests so far. A canadian couple and a french lady who both paid £21 a night. After the websites cut thats £40 in the overpayment pot! We have two more people booked in for august and its actually really fun to do!Mortgage Free 22/03/17
