    * got some fruit and veg from the market man - can really tell how prices have gone up on food compared to even a year ago when I used to shop with them more often!
    * got my watch battery changed in Timpsons - cost nothing as when I got one there two years ago I paid the extra to have a lifetime guarantee on my batteries. I literally handed over the watch and my guarantee card today ad they swapped the battery for a new one straight away. Amazing customer service :)

I did my weekly CP entries today... and used the AA so that was moneysaving because we already had the cover, so was cheaper than if we'd had to get the car towed/fixed without cover.

    My little steps today:
Worked from home: £7.50 saved on petrol
Washing dried outside (must catch it before it rains!)
Gave one dog a dodgey haircut - would've cost about £30 at the dog hairdresser although my dog wouldn't be too embarassed to go out in public!!
Other dog will have to wait until tomorrow as meant to be working :)

Thought I'd give this a bit of a bump as it was such a good thread and I need a little bit of inspiration right now.

So far and yes it's only 10:30am...

    1. I've washed and put the clothes out to dry in the garden, I checked the Met office first. I want to start pegging out now as much as possible.

    2. Found some Ald* part baked baguettes in the cupboard, now I don't have to go out for bread later and will save fuel in the process.

    3. Made sure the heating thermostat is now on low so it's not coming on in the night.

    4. Started thinking about meal planning for the month again and maybe having a weekly shop delivered which will save taking 3 little ones to the supermarket and the fuel useage will decrease as the car is bad on MPG on little runs here and there.

    5. Logged on the Onep8ll - not done that in a while and I had a 15p survey waiting for me ( which I got screened out of! ) £3.55 there only another £36.45 to go...

What small things have you done today?

    1. Went round the house turning off lights and switching off electrical goods at the socket. I only have one light bulb on in the house even though it's quite dull and dark today.:D

    2. Read an inspiring blog called The Simple Dollar for ideas.

    3. Low spend day, just some tomatoes and a local newspaper.

    4. I drew up a (conservative) 7 year plan to pay off the mortgage and worked out the percentages I have paid off so far and in the future. I'm nearly at 40% paid off.:T

    5. Worked out I have another £50 to go into savings account with a few tweaks of the monthly budget. I'm saving as well as overpaying as I realised recently how little savings we have. I thought maybe having a cushion of savings would help in case of emergencies.

    6. Pegged out the washing yesterday, I left it until it was almost dry and then gave it about 15 minutes in the dryer today to get out any pet hair.

    7. Looked at my hair and thought it can wait another month to have a trim. Saving of £20.:A

8 Homecooked meals all day. I'm making a potato cheese with the sliced tomatoes on top for dinner.

Yes it's a shame this post has gone quiet. I've not had a great last couple of days money saving wise but in the last few weeks have:

Sold big baby toy for £5 more than we bought it for.

Started making our own wine (outlay of about £15 but hope will pay for itself after a couple of rounds of wine assuming it is drinkable

Using charity shops and vootfairsas much as possible for baby toys and clothes etc for all of us

Bought toys for upcoming children's parties en mass when they were ob special offer

    Good luck everyone!
