Chicken Jumbo Gumbo Update
I kind of followed the receipe but added some extra stuff - bit of garlic, some courgette, mushrooms and more celery and onion than the receipe. I used 2 chicken breasts and 200g of Chorizo (which wasn't MSE although I did buy it over the deli counter which was cheaper than the prepacked stuff)
I went a bit crazy on the Spices which is completely Anna Glyptas fault and not mine (Serves me right for not doing a taste test)
At this point it was looking good, tasting delish but almost nucleur in terms of heat.....and I can take a lot of cajun spice normally.
Thanks for the suggestions but I didn't have anything like plain yog....I ended up adding Toms which changed the taste slightly but did lower the heat.
It was still pretty fit though. I got 5 generous portions - I should have eeked it to 6 but the chicken was making a rare appearance. Would defo do it again - I fancy it with fish and prawns.
Anyway - please don't anyone post any more receipes here as I'm trying to reduce my freezer stocks not add to them. 2 Chicken Breasts out, 3 portions of Gumbo in
My delish Gumbo at a Wedding Buffet MoneyMission? - I think party selection from Aldi is the best they can hope for!

Apart from the usual MS things,
I have registered for the free £10 train voucher from this post . Might come in handy for unexpected train travel.
Kept away from the shops. Though my friend got me 12 packs of John West Sild from Tesco @ 32p each, I paid her in kind with one of my Orla Kiely shopper bags which she was after. So, no money out of my pocket.

I've got an internal deficit so had to steal £35 from my overpay fund. Not a happy bunny. Now back to sub-£300 for this month's overpay (which is more than the £200 goal).
Anyway, eBay is doing OK, still got another week to go before listings end. It is quite amazing what will sell on there. Lots of things hanging around the house unused went on there and have bids ?? I'm not complaining :j One mans junk is another man's treasure! Hoping for around £30 profit when all is said and done.
Fell off the reviewing band wagon this week but just got back onto Dooy*o.
Nothing else to report. 2 weeks until payday :eek:0
