* Today I walked to and from Mr A, pulling my granny trolley of groceries. No whoopsies but got some easter reductions to save for next year
* new library books, and renewed existing ones
* used nectar to go to ebay (buying from categories not covered on TCB) and placed my bids
*used paypal rather than cheque to pay for sports club as paypal is linked to cashback CCDebt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Hmmm, now what have I done recently that qualifies as MSE -
Transferred my ISA money to my new ISA
Squeezed my toothpaste tube until it squeaked, and will be inflicting a mortal wound on the tube tonight by cutting it in half and using the dregs that remain in the tube. Inflicted same mortal wound on a tube of tomato puree this morning to find I'd squeezed it so hard, it had next to nothing left in it anyway
New Cat has had to be re-homed again (poor thing) as he attacked my oldboy cat, so have saved vaccination/vet and cattery costs. Not so MSE - have passed on a month's supply of food/cat litter and a leash/harness to the new owner.
Had a free chinese lunch yesterday (dad paid :T). Not so MSE - used the car to drive a 50+ mile round trip for my free meal
Have made a store cupboard slow cooker sausage and bean casserole for dinners next week. Also have made a store cupboard spicy lentil soup & hm buns for lunches at work, and hm museli for breakfasts this coming week.
Managed to complete 3 surveys on Friday night - probably netted me ...ooooo....50p?!
Today will be a nsd and npd - it's snow flurries all the time here today so I think I'm going back to bed with a cuppa and a good book (as well as a couple of hot water bottles...I will NOT put the heating on :rotfl:)
Not so MSE in the weekahead - my car sharer is unable to car share, so will have to drive all week. I also have a hairdresser's appointment next Saturday, so will have to use the car then. I generally try to have 3 NPDs a week so failing spectacularly next week. Nuffink to be done about it though.
A bit more MSE - I have discovered I'm eligible for £10 off my next hairdresser's appointment (yay!)
Wel, it's throwing it down now so a long lazy Sunday ahead. Love it :rotfl:

I've done sweet Fanny Adams MSE recently
Toothpaste and any other tubey items. When you think you've got all you can out, cut the top off and wipe your toothbrush round the inside. When that's all gone, cut about half way down and get then rest off. If you don't want the cut end exposed the stick a peg on it or wrap in clingfilm.0 -

No, but it was the right thing and a lovely thing to do.

PM me your address please and let me know which night :rotfl:

Actually I have done two things!
A YouGov Oracle survey
I went to my mums for Sunday lunch - I did drive there though as I've a bad chest (naughty chest) at the moment and could face the walk. Just feeling a bit pathetic. Fab meal though0 -
Went to discount "sports shop" to buy DH and I trainers (full of overweight customers in sports clothes
). Went to one where we could park for free, and then paid with cashback CC. Both pairs were apparently reduced, so two pairs for £35, ready to start taking up exercise :cool:

Today I have:
- Listed a fish tank on Ebay that has been empty for about 18 months and is standing in my spare room taking up space;
- Made lunch for work tomorrow;
- Updated my finance spreadsheet and forecasts;
- Potted up some tomatoes and planted some courgette seeds - french bean seeds are ready and waiting for the frosts to pass so I can plant them;
- bought a bike carrier for the back of my car. Checked for the cheapest seller online then went through Quidco for £10 off the price and £4.80 cashback tracked;
- Hung my washing outside to dry instead of using the dryer - it was a lovely sunny day here, if a bit chilly.

After a very Un-MSE week, with family visiting, i'm back to it today..
- charging phone at work
- managed to fix the broken central heating ourselves so no expensive call outs
- bought homemade jacket potato to work
- measured out cheese for lunch (money saving and weight saving!)
- used vouchers for yogurt at shop, they were on offer at a £1 - voucher was a £1 off so they turned out to be free :j:j off to get a few more tonight!
- need to open a new ISA so can start filling it
- going for a walk after tea to up my fitness levels - freeMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Just a couple of extra wee bits from me for today -
NSD (aiming to not spend until Saturday so is that a NSW?)
Charging phone at work (and wondering if anyone would notice if I brought my elecy toothbrush in....:rotfl:)
My toothpaste has, I reckon, easily got another 2-3 days of use left in the tube :T
Have kept the foil from my lunch bread to re-use tomorrow
Have read CurlyGirl's account of transferring money to a savings account and then back to her current account throughout the month. Am mulling if that would work for me, and gain a couple of extra pennies in the savings account... can try it out next week when I get paid...
Not much...but it's the small things that count... isn't it?
Hope your Mondays are all going fabulously well thrift-wise

Ohh I just plugged my phone in - thanks for the reminder. I really resent the weekends when I have to charge it myself!
So LB, you do your toothbrush. Do you reackon anyone would mind my personal lady trimmer powering up in the corner?
Shala-moo - not sure if you've spotted it but Kazza's thread is EXCELLENT for finding good ISA's. Check out post 1.

Erm not much else MSE so far today. Sorry
Actually there is one thing. I conducted an experiment to check that the expenditure on Hair Product is worth it. As you can probably guess - I have curly hair, frizzy curly hair. Over the years I've had to put up with many comments including
Q: 'Why don't you try something like Frizz-ease?'
A: 'I already do thanks'.
Well today I am living proof that it does work and it is worth the money - for the first time in 20 years I forgot to put product on and am sat here at my desk looking as if I'm wearing a large microphone.If it didn't cost £4.50 in Petrol I think I would have gone home again.
