    Hi Curlygirl,

To reach the target spend-amount on any particular month, what I do is buy Sains*/Tes* giftcard and use the GC for the later months when you have already exceeded your CC threshold. HTH.

Fan-freaking-tastic idea! Most months I hit it without much of a problem and then once I have I switch over to my Tesco Credit Card and start earning clubcard points. Anyway if next week, it's obvious I'm not going to make it, then I will definitely do this - Thanks very much

Dipashah - Just been on the Nectar Website. From the home page if you scroll down you will see 'My bonus offers' and some of the one's I activate on my iphone are in there - so in other words you don't need a smart phone for them.

However downloading their App which is "Available for iPhone™, iPod Touch™, Android™ and Nokia™" Does give you access to some other nectar offers. Nothing tremendously exciting but now and again something I am going to buy anyway - a couple of weeks ago there were 300 points for buying Smoked Mackerel. That's probably the best one I've had. Others that are available at the moment are:-

    60 points for KindWash 750ml
40 points for Pre Wash stain remover 500ml
120 bonus points for spending over £30
1000 bonus points for Car Insurance
200 points for any Douwe Egberts Coffee
150 points for Sare for Women 250ml

....so apart from the £30 spend nothing there for me this time.

So when I'm going to shop in Sainsburys, I check the app and 'activate' the offers I want. They get added to your Nectar account in a few days after the shop.

If you have a smart phone then you should also consider downloading the mysupermarket.com app which allows you to scan barcodes and compare prices.

Thanks curlygirl! I will be downloading the apps (once i get home and can do it for free using wifi rather then the current 3G!)
  • Some very small ones today:

    1. Used a credit voucher for Smarks and Pencers to buy new underwear!
    2. I've also one of their 0% credit cards at the moment that I'm using to stooze (get me!) and they'd sent me a voucher for a free greetings card so I bagged that at the same time.
    3. Have managed to get both small people who reside in this house to go on a tea date tonight so no food for them needed!

    Happy Friday everyone.

I love this thread! I read it in bed in the mornings to get my moneysaving brain into gear for the day :D

I have a question so have come out of lurking to ask you hardcore, friendly folk...

Yesterday my boss asked me to buy him some stuff on Amazon (£250 worth). Could I have signed in via the Nectar site and trousered the points? Would this work and is it ok to do so? He wouldn't mind. Thanks for any advice :)

Welcome Cod! Hope you remain de-lurked ;)

Yes you can do that but there are some exemptions so it might be that you wouldn't earn points on the whole basket value

    Have a great day :D

Yes, you could via Nectar for the Nectar points. For ebay, go through Boots Treat Street for Boots Advantage points. I think there is even 250 points for Boots referral. HTH.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
