Thanks for the link unhappy, I saw the advert on TV last night & I'm wondering whether to go for it. I've already got a Reward account in my name so it would have to go in DH's, not sure if they'd allow the bonus in those circumstances though.

    Small things ~
    • £20 Mr. T giftcard received after negotiating car insurance renewal with them (also got about £15 knocked off the price) Will put £20 in the OP pot
    • Living off 'what's in the cupboard' & aiming for a very low-spend grocery week
    • Making sure we all only use the landline on a weekend when it's free calls after getting a bill £20 more than usual last month!!
    • Surveys completed
    • 2 out of 3 NSDs so far this week

    Hello

    * Charged my phone at work
    * Halifax ISA has matured today and dropped down to 0.5%. The best they can offer is 3.5%. Have been distracted by Christmas and heavy workload so missed out on NatWest 3 year at 3.95% :( so have decided on Birmingham Midshires Postal fixed for 2 years at 3.80%.....just waiting for paperwork to arrive.
    * I've decided to put this years bonus in my ISA also instead of OP'ing like I've done with previous 2 bonus payment. Even though I already have a good savings level I just feel like that is where I want the money .....and besides I can always use it as an OP in the future. At 3.8% on savings and 3.5% on Mortgage I'm not currently loosing anything (apart from Inflation :o )
    * Moved my Halifax money around so that I get my £10 (and my Sis gets her £5 ;) )
    * Was soooo tempted by takeaway tonight but opted for something in freezer instead

    *Charging Phone at work
*Have used £48 worth of Clubcard Vouchers to purchase RAC Membership worth £100. I do a lot of mileage so although there are cheaper options than the AA/RAC I prefer the peace of mind they give.....and very pleased to get what I think is a good deal

    Today I have -

    - been to Lidl first thing and spent £12.30 but have plenty for the week thanks to lots of 30% cheaper stickered stuff
    - made a big batch of butternut squash, sweet potato, carrot & parsnip soup, probably 3 portions, smells delicious
    - daily clicks
    - 75 point swagbuck survey, maxed on SBTV and redeemed another £5 Amazon voucher. :) That's 6 in a month, really pleased.
    - email from Giffgaff telling me my ideal price plan for next month which is cheaper than the £5 Hokey Cokey I normally buy. They suggest PAYG so I must be spending less than £5 a month on my mobile. It helps that my parents and friend are also on it and GG to GG calls are free
    - Found 3 things on sale on www . offer of the day . co . uk which I intend to buy and put away for niece and SIL for next Xmas, all less than £5.
    - Received a dvd I bought from play.com for my mum. At Xmas she really enjoyed that Victoria Wood show, especially watching all the Acorn Antiques clips so I got her the dvd for £3.27 Will prob put it away for Mother's Day.
    - Staying in with a bottle of wine which was an Xmas pressie and a portion of soup with some par-baked Lidl bread, mmm
    - Free cuppa thanks to Yorkshire Tea whom I subscribed to last year and they sent me an Xmas card with a teabag inside

    * Today I got 2 books in the CS for my christmas pressie stash, for £3 :)
    * I also resisted the urge to buy clothes or anything else in the shop.
    * Heating didn't go on until the afternoon.

  • Yesterday, I emptied my penny jar and deposited £4.37 in the Barclays coin deposit machine towards our mortgage. I know it is a small amount, but every little helps. Most of the coins were roadkill.

On the MSE front, we're trying to live off what is in the cupboard and freezer for the rest of the month.

I'd love to know which Barclays branches have these coin machines in! Does anyone know of a list where I can find out (apart from going into town and asking, which I may do at the weekend if needs be)
