Today I went into a CS and didn't buy anything :T
Then I collected some new library books
I've also got a load on the line and one in the wash, which is probably the best I'm going to manage on moneysaving today as I need to go food shopping.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -

Do you feel guilty about doing this? Am asking as I do this as well, and always feel guilty, but rationalise it by thinking of how much I donate to charity shops, and buy from them. Then I'll leave an empty bag out for them to pick up on collection day, they never do, so I stop feeling guilty for a whileA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I use charity bags as bin liners too. I donate things in branch so I don't feel guilty, plus I can't help wondering if the bags that come through the door are for genuine charities as I've heard there are quite a few scams going around. I must get about 3 per week!#39 - Save £12k in 20250

I will fill charity bags if it a charity that I support ie animal welfare, but there are too many scam/iffy type bags that get pushed though the door. It's not the despair, Laura. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand. ~ Brian Stimpson, Clockwise0

I spent over £100 in Waitrose last night:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o Am I still alllowed on here?
Food prices are so annoying these days.
Today more washing on the line and deciding whether or not to cycle to town for a knitting group meet.
On the charity bags - I take my stuff into a CS so I know it is't collected by scammers. I too use the doorstep bags for rubbish - or I fill them and take them to my local CS regardless of the branding on the bag!Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
I wouldn't feel bad about using those bags as bin liners either. Half of them are for businesses. They don't collect them anyway if you leave the empty bag out, so just use it rather than throw it unused without guilt.
I tend to take stuff up to our local help the aged shop. I saw they had a poster up the other day asking for stuff. I guess most people just are glad to get the clutter out the house.
I'm being awful at spending recently. DH got a set of new tyres plus tracking - £560. Although he got a form to claim for £40 of fuel vouchers with that. We then spent £105 at costco. We got some non food stuff in that, but seriously, how much can you spend on what is pretty essential? Scary stuff.0 -
I decided not to cycle to the knitting meeting as although I'd make new friends, it would take up all the afternoon and I wanted to maximise the laundry as it is a nice day for drying.
I have been moneysaving and hunted online for colour catching cloths (I keep wondering how the terry ones I use are different to bits of old towels but am too nervous to risk messing up my clothes...). I checked ebay (via TCB), Amazon, lovely Lakeland, My Supermarket, googled the manufacturer of ones I'm currently using and eventually got them free postage from the manufacturer for the cheapest rate (less than half the price of the lakeland ones ). The manufacturer sells on ebay but doesn't seem to combine postage so their ebay site is rather poor value to say the least.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Today, I bought 2 bottles of Lenor fabric conditioner and 2 bottles of Fairy washing-up liquid for 5p. :j
That was with the help of 4x £1 MOCs, the current offers at Tesco:- Fairy 650ml (2 for £2.50), Lenor (reduced from £1.79 to £1) and 10% staff discount.
Then I found 20p in the car-park, as I unlocked my bike.
I've got £9.82 due from Quidco on the next payment run.0
