    * Had a haircut (which cost me) but booked the next 3 to receive a 10% discount.....just a scheme my hairdresser runs which I quite like!

    * Done menu plan for this week - apart from some small bits I can manage on freezer parcels

    * Got £40 birthday money which I've put in my savings for now. I'm not sure if I will spend it on a treat or make an OP with it so it can earn 2.5% for now ;) until I make my mind up (talk myself out of the treat). In previous years it's been saved or used as an OP....but I do fancy that treat LOL

    * After A LOT of silly @rsing around I've switched my Gas & Elec. Did it via Quidco and am waiting for £70 CB to track. Fingers crossed.

    * I have an ISA maturing so have sent instructions for transferring it to a new fixed account in which it will earn 3.65% for the next 2 years. My mortgage rate is 3.5% (tracking BOE) so it is likely to earn slightly less over the 2 years than what I will pay in interest on the same £ in my mortgage account, but I like having a savings pot and managing my savings counts towards the bigger financial picture and I may well decide at somepoint in the future to use them to OP - so the more they earn now, the better

    * I've also found a new home for my 'Annual Expenditure' funds - ie I pay into it every month like a bill and then everything that I pay for once or Annually comes out of it. So its a short term savings account. I'll be getting a whole 1% more!

    * Took an impulse buy back to Debenhams :)

    * Bought some Sandals from Clarks. Not very MFW but I did need some and I get really sore feet so always wear Clarks and don't bother with 'fashion' brands anymore. They were only £19.99 in the sale however (Okay I bought two pairs but I'm taking one pair back tomorrow)

    I have
    • claimed my 2nd £50 from YouGov (in five years, not exactly something to write home about, but the surveys themselves are usually interesting, just the frequency that kills me!)
    • 20p onepoll
    • 40p crowdology
    • my Swagbucks and cashback clicks
    • Jiggled money for Halifax rewards
Also did price comparisons yesterday for fiance and got his insurance down by £35 on last year's price (don't know about renewal yet) as added his dad after being inspired by someone somewhere on here to try adding random combinations of people!

    Hi all,

I started posting on this thread a few months ago, then got pregnant and found the first few months impossible to think about saving money as I was horrendously sick! But now I'm feeling much better and would like to start posting on here again as it really helps me focus on the small things that will eventually help us pay off mg.

    Today and last few days:
-had a free eye test at Tesco.
-got free nursery curtains from Freecycle
-got cheap loo rolls in Co-op plus used 50p off voucher
-bought new washing machine online, really happy as it's energy efficient model with all programmes we need £249 plus 2% Quidco.
-cancelled RAC breakdown, signed up with AA instead for £35 plus £20 Boots voucher.
-bought cute booties and socks £1 each from Poundland for friend's new baby, plus reduced rattle in Tesco 69p.
-bought maternity dress to wear to a wedding next month £16 inc postage, it's gorgeous and I'll sell it back on ebay after.

ETA: I've recently been thinking about starting my own diary thread on here, but not sure whether I should? We do make overpayments, but not on a monthly basis, we tend to save the money in savings accounts for a year or 2 then pay off a lump sum instead. Some months we don't manage to save much at all so I feel a bit of a 'cheater' for not making big monthly overpayments the way that many of you on here do... sorry to take this thread off topic so feel free to pm me if anyone has any suggestion with whether I should start a diary thread... thanks x

    * Received some freebies off OH's mum, tooth paste X2, ice cube tray, dove moisturizer, massage oil, E45 wash, bubble bath and a detergent for the washing. Just can't beat freebies!
*Updated my house furnish and decoration budget so I know exactly how much everything is going to cost in turn does help in the money saving.

    Hello everyone,
    Today I have:
-picked up a Breast pump via Freecycle (in readiness for breastfeeding when bubs in born in Dec!)
-got 2 big boxes of washing powder from Tesco for £6 (50 washes total). Missed out on Lidl Daz offer but this is pretty good deal.
    -picked up some library books
-Prepared some resources for tutoring tomorrow which will earn me £20.
-got 6 pack of yogurts for approx 49p (had a coupon from Tesco mag for 'Yoo' yogurts £1 off, normally cost £1.89 but were on offer for £1.49! Would recommend to others).
-Switched gas and elec to a fixed rate with Eon. Meant to switch ages ago as has fallen onto standard rate with old supplier. Will get Tesco Clubcard points too.
-Bought a Groupon deal for highlights and trim- £22 but without a deal I normally spend £50 as my hair's long.

    The bad...
It's my Dad's bday today, and will be going out to pub for a meal tonight, DH coming to so will spend approx £25. But hey ho, it will be nice to see my family, and you can't go through life never spending any money can you.
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)

Hope that's the current Tesco mag you're talking about. I bought some Yoo the other night and like them so will hopefully pick up a mag tonight and get a voucher

    Many thanks
