Its Friday so I was just sitting at my desk reading this and it got me thinking - what I have I spent this week? The good news it pretty much nothing at all now that I think about it. My commute to work by trian is fully reimbursed by my employer so travel costs = nil. All my lunches were packed lunches this week - sure they cost something but part of the normal weekly shop. All my drinks were free - coffees from the free work machine. Since its been the usual routine of get up, run for 30 minutes round park, breakfast at home, go to work, work all day bouncing from meetings, eat lunch at desk, home for small dinner with no socialising or shopping I have not handed a single euro over to anyone. I probably do this a lot without realising it and must be why we have done well with the mortgage. I've had the same 50 euro note in my wallet for weeks now!
My wife meantime is at home getting stuff together for a childrens clothes and toy exchange party on sunday. Think I'll skip that one, Turkish grand prix to watch.0 -
Small overpayment made; Have spent within my budget this week. Chilli plants are growing, one had sadly died - 6 live ones to go. Plants are looking lovely too, have some strawberry plants which will give some lovely fruit soon. Oh and I found a 10 pound note last week. Winner!Feb 2012 - onwards MF achieved

This week:
packed lunches all week
careful driving
nearly bought a new pair of walking trainers from discount sport shop, but didn't have any socks to try on with. i was just about to pay when I asked if it was ok to return them and the girl said only for an exchange or voucher. So I left without them.
:mad:I have been doing my money jiggery-pokery this week and I'm sure the banks/BS do everything to inconvenience their customers. I'm with the Nationwide and wanted to move my old ISA to their new loyalty one. Easy? Oh no, I have to open a Flex account to run the new one. So I opened one. Can I move my old ISA into it? Oh no, old ISA is branched based and will have to go in :mad:0 -
2 reviews copied onto ciao and a product suggesterion accepted - just have to do the review now!
Also kept my shopping reciept to put into price checker (I'll do that in a mo)
Onepoll checked (nothing)
10pointer myvoice survey done (is anyone else on this survey site? it's one of my faves and the surveys are very fair! PM me your email if you want a refferal!)
sold some things on ebay but need to sort it all out
Managed to keep some of the cash in my wallet actually in my wallet and not spend it!!0 -
:mad:Further to my Nationwide debacle I went to the Nationwide today to close my old ISA only to find the branch temporarily closed:mad::mad::mad:
:)Made three HM cottage pies for DD as she's a bit faddy with her food and won't eat the gammon and pineapple we're having tonight. One for tonight and two for the freezer.
As the rain hasn't materialised I have 2 lots of washing on the line.
All windows open, so fresh air gently blowing through the house.
Also made a chocolate sponge cake ready to ice for DH's birthday tea tomorrow. Mixed the ingredients by hand instead of using the hand-mixer. Free exercise.
DD's are looking forward to a family night in, watching the Dr Who's we have recorded and eating Easter Eggs. Then later I'm watching the Walking Dead (sorry-I know it's naff) from behind a cushion:o
Whoops! I've put the gammon in the freezer instead of the fridge - DH suggested fish and chips instead (yum yum!!)0 -
Hi All
Well since my last post (far too long ago) DH has bought a 'new' car (old one has had it and is due for tax + MOT shortly). Bad news it cost £895, good news it's £300 cheaper than the other one he saw, and scrap metal prices have gone up so he should get more than the £25 he got 4 years ago when he scrapped the last one. It also means we can start our one month trial of using only one car. He seems to be embracing this more suggesting that if he knows I will need the car for a complete day he will save his work in one area so he wont need it. Hurrah!
Well busy week:
Hatton GM sent £43.91 for gold tooth
Closed old bank account and received £5.07
Used coupon for 6p off per litre petrol to fill car right up (ok so trial wont start until I've used that up!)
Listed loads of stuff on ebay with their free listing weekend
Completed a couple of minor surveys, but every little counts
On the negative side have had my CC limit reduced due some negative feedback from their credit rating service. This is possibly due to an insurance company I dealt with in May 2009 (who refused to pay my claim and cancelled my insurance until instructed otherwise by the financial ombudsman) taking a payment from another card in December. Said Credit card company told me not to make any payments until issue resolved, but it has appeared as a non payment, although since then the money has been credited back to the credit card, without apology or explanation from anyone involved! CC have agreed to up the limit temporarily while they check everything out, so I can now pay the balance of our holiday (our one real luxury) and the flights to see my unwell mother later this month.Owe Mum for house deposit: 01/04/2011 £4700
Currently £27020 -

Well done Georgie! -read thru your diary hope the kidlets are doing okay sounds like they are getting some great opportunities in the new place (definitely grew up with the "go out and come back when youre hungry" rules and benefited greatly from that freedom!)
Also like being with like minded people on here! :rotfl:
This weekend I have:
Eaten out with vouchers- so technically free!
Topped up shopping but with some whoopsies and used up most of anything useable in cupboards/fridge without having to re-shop.
Didn't touch the credit card for any extras on weekend away which was quite an achievement!
Thats about it actually!
Oh and I collected a load of stuff which may do a car boot later in the summer- couple of possibilties for amazon but mostly things thatd go for less than a quid and not sure I can be bothered faffing around with postage etc...0 -
So after saying I wouldn't I've ended up spending loads this weekend but I've had a good time so it doesnt really matter i think!
Done a review and posted one to ciao so I'm keeping on track with that I just need to find more things to write about!
Not sure what else really and i think my posts have gotten too boring and repetitiveI only do surveys and reviews and really need to find another way to up the anti!
rent/bills is something I can't really cut back and im struglling in other areas0
