Creative cookery to reduce food bills tinkerbell? Or perhaps some grow your own? Your posts are not boring. If you hadn't mentioned the ciao bonus i wouldn't have earned something from there too.
That is why i am being quiet here as i am spending a lot of time there. Oops. I wish i didn't need to sleep sometimes.0 -
I know it doesn't really count, but MOM went and did the weekly shopping rather than me, so my bank balance is looking a bit healthier than I expected! Really pushing the "small things" concept I knowFeb 2012 - onwards MF achieved

This weekend my wife went to a baby and toddler clothes jumble sale type thing run by the expat community here in Paris. These things are great as you get expat leavers, often Americans who buy expensive clothes, desperate to get rid of stuff as they have a limit on what they can take back and eager buyers who just arrived with limited possessons for the same reason. She took a load of old clothes and a large pack of some fancy reusable nappies which we bought for £140 and which over the last 3 years saved us a lot of money on disposables (twice the price here in Paris versus Tesco in UK). She came back with everything sold including €80 for the reusable nappy set. She bought some barely worn Geox trainers for our 2 year old lad which cost about €60 new, she paid €4 for the pair. Also crocs for our 4 year old daughter which are like new; €1. Quite a few T-shirts (Ralph Lauren toddlers T-shirt: €3 !) and some stuff for next winter too, including a lovely as new Gap body warmer which is dark green so fine for our daughter and then a couple of years later will do for our son too: she paid €1 for it. So my wife has done more than me this weekend, although all I bought this weekend was fruit and veg and a load of whole sardines (€2 per kilo, cheapest protein you can buy!), which I gutted de-boned and cooked on the bbq on Saturday. Mind you, I did kind of blow it a bit this morning by spending €108 on a balance bike for our sons 2nd birthday present in a couple of weeks. Still, the sardines were nice.0

Your son will love the balance bike. We bought one a couple of years ago for our eldest. It should have been £90, but with my BILs staff discount we got it for £60, and it has just been passed on to my younger son. No doubt we will be able to sell it later too.
I'm still trying quite hard on dy and ciao, but i have also been doing surveys as they dropped into my inbox. Todays have been a PC one for £3, 50p on OP. and 80p on surveynetwork.
I've also sorted through 2 bin bags of hand me downs from my sister for my two. The kids now have plenty of new looking stuff for their wardrobes. Most of it won't fit my eldest, but i am sure i can get some cheap primarni shorts for him. The best thing in there were some Ben 10 sandals, and 2 pairs of school shorts so i don't have to buy any. I can put off shopping a bit longer.0 -

Received some bumph from Eon saying they now exchange Tesco Clubcard vouchers. For every £10 voucher you send you'll get £15 off your bill - will look into this as I have quiet a few vouchers due this month:D
DD wanted some plastic hooks to put in her wardrobe to hang her many hairbands from. Found some in Wilkos - £1.75 for 8, then went to another hardware store and saw a pack of 10 for £1.15. Went straight back to Wilkos for a refund.0 -
Today I:
* made toast for tea instead of takeaway (DH veto-ed the takeaway, I was weak)
* got caught up on RM survey data entry
* got a foundation sample so I can try it for new job and see if I want to buy
* parked in a free place for a meeting
* drove the shortest way to and from work
* registered for a free art pass from grabbit board - hopefully somewhere nice to go in the next 3 months?Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Aww thanks Michelle and everyone else, this thread really keeps my spirits up sometimes and i keep trying to do different things because I want to tell you all about them, no matter how small!!
I think my food bill is pretty low already.. I have some treats sometimes but i think mmy focus needs to be on not wasting anything and perhaps trying to branch out my cooking (not from a money pov but a learning thing!)
I've copied 2 reviews to ciao - how many are you putting on a day? I'm trying only to do 1 or 2 but its so tempting!!
Also emptied my change into my change pot (I always forget)
Also I sent an old broken phone off to a recycling website and should get about £3 soon! (and hopefully £3 from Quidco!)
Alsoo... I've chased up a grant application so fingers crossed!!0 -
