Thank you mardatha x
Have you got the yellow ball? It's been missing for a while now:(Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Mardatha, serious jealousy here (and never even thought of getting arctic seeds for good growth here). My toms, planted on 24th Feb, are only 2 inches high yet (the ones that germinated) and most haven't poked their heads out yet.
Jedi, finger's crossed that all goes well for you and babs.
I am feeling less black today, I just have to put my head down and get on with everything. And I was talking to a friend this morning, whose OH was made redundant 3 years ago - having waited ages to get a course, and taken a year to do an IT qualification (an add-on to existing quals), he cannot get a job as he has no experience in it and can't even work for free anywhere. She is afraid he will never work again (career-wise, other than packing shelves in shops at Christmas) and he is less than 40.GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897

Jedi - will be thinking of you today, its no use telling you not to worry - I know you still will (I am exactly the same), but try to rest at least where you can. Hugs
Annie - I wish I could get a mortgage organised in such a speedy time.
mardatha - I am so jealous my tomato seeds are the only ones that havent done anything yet, am on course to repot some of the larger seeds from last week today but the tomatoes are stubbonly refusing to do anything at all.
STill no news on mortgage here and its driving me mad, cant settle at all and dont want to move in case phone rings - spent most of day restlessly waiting for news. Praying today is the day as I am not sure how much longer I can take the stress - have started looking at rental properties and am beginning to feel it would all be so much easier just to rent again.0 -
Actually now I remember we got our mortgage approval the same day we applied and had not even found the house yet. That was before the crash of course.0

I have to agree with Haribro re Annie as regards midwifery posts. Even if one was available or bank work the process of recruitment is very longwinded as new CRB has to be undertaken and Occupational health. It would take a minimum of 4 weeks and up to 8 weeks in some cases. In my case I worked for my trust previously and it still took a good 4 weeks!I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Jedi :grouphug: hope everything turns out well for you.
Annie :j congratulations hun!
OH's sister is being induced on Saturday if the baby hasn't put in an appearance so I think OH will be up there this weekend. He's still not happy about the whole situation and reckons he'll be sea fishing most of the weekend (he's been cooped up looking after me too long). I'm sure he'll change his mind once she's actually had the baby, but then again he's really annoyed and he's had give-or-take nine months to get over it already, so.... maybe I should make sure there's room in the freezer for some fish :rotfl:
My friend did something very kind yesterday. She asked how OH was doing with all the running around, and I made a joke about how he was looking after me just fine, but he wasn't looking after the house at all. She offered to come round and do all of my housework! This is a woman with a full-time job, two kids and her own house to look after! And it's not like she lives down the road, she's on the other side of the next town to me. Bless her, I said it was okay, I'm sure I'll catch up with it all once I'm properly back on my feet. But I thought it was so sweet :A What would we do without friends, eh?
Does anyone have a pressure cooker? How often do you use it and what sort of thing do you cook? I know there are threads and I'm just looking at them now, but it would be useful if I could pick someone's brains.0 -
Larumbelle - it may be an idea to let her do just a little for you, it will make her feel she has done something positive - and also if she ever needs help and you offer she wont feel so guilty if she accepts
Also may make your OH realise it needs doing

Jedi, I hope all goes well for you and the little one. Try not to research the possibilities too much it only works you into a frazzle when you need rest.
Annie56 its lovely to hear you being so positive, I am amazed at how some things are going so well for you. hugs to you
Mardatha, I am now panicking as I haven't planted a single tomato seed - must rectify that today, although the blight last year means they will be only a few tomatoes and they will be in the new mini greenhouse or indoors. Am going to opt for small plants - cherry toms etc.
Keeping busy here, baking and sewing, now Ds has gone I have so little washing and the meals are simpler so have more time. He hasn't emptied his room completely till Friday so am itching to sort out my craft stuff. Strange things keep happening, I have started jewellry making and every time I need something it turns up in amongst my stash, obviously from when I worked at Hobbycraft and kept buying odd things! Also if I see something on the craft channel it turns out i already have the thing I crave - vintage ribbon for one:cool: Certainly don't remember buying a full reel of it??? Its a good job really as we are stuck in the house as our Nsd's are now no money to spend days. Keeping positive though as we could be in a worse place. Going to have an x ray on the collar bone on Friday not that they can do much with a broken collar bone - guess i should rest it ...haha..some chance of that:oClearing the junk to travel light
