    Good morning everyone,

Well thats all the legals sown up re the purchase of this cottage, and wait for it, 3 acres:eek::eek: not 2, along with a duck pond and hug:eek:e barn well outbuilding !!! potting shed !!! seed store place. Martin aka Monty has gone into this his dream big style and well theres no turning back now.
To finance all this we have cleared out the savings, small mortgage and Montys working 2 daysa week at the local argricultural college, and Im doing 2 days back on the maternity wards at local big hospital,we will each share the childcare of Lucy and have about 5 people interested in sharing this bit if land.
A bee keeper, ducks chooks and quail(?) am toying with the idea of a pig and lots of digging me thinks, its early days but Monty wants to set up some kind of communal food thing where all grow for each others benefit.
Local council runs a similiar thing down the road, where the locals participate in the day to day running and helping out, theres a weekend job going there as a supervisor type Montys looking at that too as an option to help finance our lifestyle..but told him to woah slow down, if hes working outside our own place that kind of defeats what were trying to set up here, I want peace and quiet man coming home not some frazzled wreck too tired to enjoy what we finally have.

So life in the Staffordshire countryside starts...:Tam quite looking forward to working a couple days a week, keep the old pension pot topped up, all this discussion about pension changes is quite frightening the Government keeps moving the goalposts, first this then that..do they actially know what there doing, Im still not sure that the worst part of this downturn has happened yet, just a womens intuition here but Im determined to be ready for it if Im correct, this forum and this thread should be compulsary reading for lots of spendthrifts and money wasters.

I had some pink wellies and some thick socks of Lucy for Mothers Day and nearly dropped the caserole dish when she said I have 2 mummys one in heaven and you,,well what more could I want in life so am cherishing it for all time..ight must get going...

Love to you all...hugs to those in a sad place today and even more hugs to everyone who needs them...

Wow Annie I wish I knew your secret to getting things done quickly. You were only "on the verge" of buying the cottage a week ago.....You got a speedy divorce, secured a mortgage in record time and got a job within days of quitting your old one (in a field like midwifery where they are like gold dust).
I know it doesn't make up for the bad news you have suffered but I have friends who have been waiting years to achieve all of the above so someone is clearly looking out for you in these departments ;).

Yucky morning here and I have to run lots of errands. :(

    Bye for now. :)

Cor....where did you get the Latah seeds from Mardatha? (I've never seen that type anywheres.) If yours are coming out now so far oop north...then it makes me wonder if many of the rest of us could have tomatoes in springtime:D.

Totally agree. Want that one!! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease:)

Not great news at the scan yesterday. Babies stomach is too big so now have to go in for more testing. Felt a bit silly as I burst into tears when they told me (I do not normally cry!). It just feels like someone does not want me to have this baby as with all the complications it's been a very stressful time and we just jump from one disaster to another. Back in hospital today for a glucose tolerance test again as although they rules it out 4 weeks ago the babies tummy could be an indicator that I have now got it. Stupidly looked on the internet and have now really freaked myself out as they suggest it could be cystic fibroisis, a hole in the stomach, a blockage and all sorts. Going to see my consultant tomorrow but worrying like mad here.

On a more OS note at least I'm not spending any money apart from the huge cost of carparking at hospitals.

Hope everyone else has a good day.

Jedi I am thinking of you and hope things go well.
looking on the internet is not always a good idea. I did that with my last one and had myself with H.E.L.P. syndrome among other things. it turned out I had strep.B but no one picked up on it until he was born and had a high temp.

:) Ahhhh, get me, went to bed at 9.20pm last night and woke at 7 am with the alarm clock. Feeling HUMAN for once. Bliss.

:) Yesterday was a poorer day, weather wise, much cooler and showery and a certain muppet went out without a coat or brollie and got slightly damp. :o Well, it has been sunny and up to 18 degrees (sorry Mardatha) so I had been lulled into it.

:) So, my pal with an allotment near mine had hatched a plan to motivate herself to garden after the end of the workday by offering to take me up there in her car (we live 5 mins walk apart and the lottie is 1.25 miles up the road, normally I bike it.) That was on a sunny Sunday afternoon. By Monday afternoon the weather was carp and we'd each of separately bottled it but for the mutual commitment. Offshot was we happliy played in the dirt on our separate plots for 1.5 hours, until the last of the light, and felt exercised and pleased with the progress.

:D My strawberry plants are starting to bud-up and some are even in flower (beaming with pride like a proud mama). I'm chuffed.

Love and peas to all, I have a fried egg sandwich to eat.....:rotfl:

...just had quick re-read of Annie56's recent posts - and no mention of re when the mortgage was taken out and the "legals" can indeed be sorted out pretty quickly if one has an efficient solicitor (as I have experienced myself - having been fortunate enough to choose a good 'un :D)...but anyways....our Annie is a lucky lady that life is, by and large, going pretty well....so 'tis good:D.

Good luck to you Annie in getting the land and your "helpers" on it up and running. Leastways it's a good time of year to be making a start on this :D
