:) Morning all and big (((hugs))) to those of us who have suffered bereavements and illnesses. Shegar, really hope social services come thru with some help for you.

:)Mardatha, you over-used the Yellow Ball and although it came back to the proper place yesterday, it was weak and hazy.....still, it was a better day than Saturday and I got some more ground prepped and planted my shallots. Dropped just over a tenner last autumn on seeds via our allotment association and have lots of home saved ones and date-expired flower seeds which I got as freebies so hope to have flowers among the veg for beauty, the insects and some to bring down to the flat. Had several species of bumble bees going mad for the red dead nettles yesterday. These pop up on the lottie every spring and I garden around them until they have finished flowering as the bees love them so much and there isn't too much nectar up there at this time of the year. Then I grow beans which the bumble bees polinate so it's a win-win situation. Isn't it easy to spend money on gardening? I really daren't go into a garden centre at all, too much like a kiddie in a sweet shop.

:( This morning is my Mum's 3 month check-up with the oncologist after the end of her radiotherapy so fingers crossed for good news on that front. Having cancer is like waiting for the other shoe to drop, isn't it?

:) Ah well, game face on, got to get breakfast and will put on my shocking pink blouse to throw some colour into my face.

:D Keep on smiling.......it'll make them wonder what the HELL you've been up to.........:rotfl:

    Mornin' peeps,
Knicker elastic coloured sky here and no yellow ball:( Still at least the cloud cover means there's been no nasty frost:)
Baby seedlings doing well at the moment, but early days yet.

GQ hope your mum's check up is OK and the news is excellent x Also hope that the HO is up to speed with how appalling IB's neighbourliness is and has a plan B if the arrears have been paid - fingers crossed for that too!

    Best wishes to you all,
    Cheers m'dears, Silver x

morning all! sun is shining here this morning after the frost so the washing is out on the line, steaming nicely! had a bit of a rough weekend really, after all the fun of DD's party on Saturday afternoon (old style tea party ;)) OH was out having a few drinks with friends and ended up being spiked  needless to say, my Saturday night was eventful with phone calls from the police and OH ending up in casualty. It really does make me wonder what kind of person who do something so darn stupid! :(

    Morning all

GQ - hope your mum's check up results in good news

babychick - sorry to hear that about your OH - some people are so stupid!! GRrrr!!!

Sky is white here. Dry, but definitely cool - coats required for school run. Am hoping it will warm up later, as I'd like to get out in the garden this afternoon, but it's just *too* chilly right now. Washing is still out though :D

Nice to see our electricity consumption is falling at the mo - yeay!! Heating is on on a morning for an hour - will stay like that for a couple of weeks, maybe - it's parky in this house at 6am! Not usually on of an evening, occasionally for about 1/2 hour if kids are complaining bedrooms are cold at bedtime.

Have had about £50 from tesco in DTD vouchers this month - their price check guarantee - great! Have not been excessive with it, though, as many others appear to have possibly been. Using up the freezer a bit this month (although not passing any decent whoopsies by!) - used some courgette, beans & raspberries from last summer at the weekend, along with whoopsied meat and HM frozen breadcrumbs. Still have quite a lot of frozen f&v - all good, I guess! :D Am excited about growing more again this year. Would like it to be more organised this year.

(hugs) to anyone needing them, Hopefully the yellow orb will shine on us all today :)

This is an easy red onion relish recipe
    3 finely chopped red onions
    1 finely chopped red pepper
    6 tbsp soft brown sugar
    6 tbsp white wine vinegar
    half teaspoon salt
1 chopped or grated garlic clove

Mix all the ingredients together in a pan. Heat gently until the sugar has dissolved. Bring the mixture to the boil, turn down the heat and simmer for approx 34-40 mins (until thickened). Give mixture a good stir and put into a jar immediately. Once cold it is ready to eat. Will make 1 x 450g jar.

and the talk about this is perfect as lidl's have an offer on red onions at the moment :D nomnomnom

Very sunny here so am going to put dh's washing out in a mo.
Boiler broke down on Friday and plumber had an accident so could not come then. came this morning and had to order a part. It is as big as my thumbnail and costs.................£50!!! and his time is on top. Dh was so glad I set up a savings account last year because we had the money to pay him without worrying. Just waiting for the part to arrive now.
I was glad we have a few very large pans so we were able to have baths etc.

:) Thank you WER; you're so kind. I've just spoken to Mum and there's no sign of lumps in the other boob/ underarm and she will next see the oncologist in 6 months time. We couldn't chat long because she was waiting for a call back from the hospital as the oncologist wants her to have a bone density scan soon to check that the radiotherapy didn't impact her bones but she has them 5 yearly anyway and had one last August. She's not sure if she can have one again so soon so is awaiting this call back. She has a tiny blemish which seems to be a pimple but has been told that if it's not gone in 2-3 weeks, to see them. Other than that, it's a case of no news is good news and yearly mammograms. No news is good news, eh?

((Sigh)) Will have to just plod along and hope for the best.
