Yellow ball has settled happily into its almost regular position and washing is on the line drying, major works here today as inspection again tomorrow. Have massive migraine and loads to do!!

Have finally persuaded OH that we will need to start decluttering garage this week so am plotting for Tues - remove seats from car and load up to tip!!
Anyone else decluttering there was an advert in our local paper for a textile recycling place that buy bags of old textiles - I have about four bin bags of stuff that is not good enough to sell/charity shops so am hoping to offload them to the recycling place and get money too!! Also there are six bin bags of curtains in loft (never throw them away since I never knew where we would be) and since we are now buying we wont be needing them (most are third/fourth hand) so am hoping to trade them in too.

No yellow ball here and no wind but its dry and warm enough so have two linefulls out :)

Is it too early to be cutting rhubarb? We have quite a lot of short thick stems on ours - first year of proper crop - does regular cutting encourage new growth? or is it best to leave it as long as possible? I'm looking forward to making an rhubarb crumble :D

yay the suns back! Haven't been outside like, so it could be baltic out there:eek:.
Last night it was blumming freezing, so the heating stay on till 11pm and guess what it didn't get above 17 degrees (in the kitchen) so that must be 15 in the front room. Brrrr

hmm very suspicious gq, but you never know he could be straighten his act out.

Not sure what were doing today, just tried to persuade snips to the go to the park, and guess what he said nope. He just wants to play on his ben 10 game. Coddy swanned off to his mates, so the how is filled with the sond of four arms battleing vilgax.

so think i may end up gardening and shotting more stuff out.

Oops just realised need to put the clocks forward :o

...and how are the "thieving gets" kezlou? - otherwise known as the resident "cat burglars"?

Have your cats helped themselves to any more cheese from the fridge recently or have they been given "paws for thought"?:rotfl::rotfl:

Don't get me started started i found one , scabby cat, climbing in the freezer yesterday and dragging out a pack of chickpeas, totally ignoring the packs of bacon i might add.

This morning i found fat knacker (ie tom) in the kitchen cupboard pawing a tin of tuna !!:eek:
The cupboards deliberately have no handles to stop the cats getting in them :mad:
I mean how did the heck did scabby cat get the freezer open, the door is jammed by the freezer for pits sake?!
All this and the bowls are full of meat and cat biscuits.

    Answear on a postcard....

  • Hi everyone, very annoyingly lost my post earlier, hope this one survives!
Yellow ball was AWOL this morning but has returned - can now see how dirty the windows are(!). OH doing some tidying in the garden.
Gailey, would certainly agree with you about older cookery books - I find them much more economical. Find it sad that they tend to sit on the shelf in the charity shop where I help out.
Re your shopping list - 36 pints milk, dried fruit, rice - are you planning world's largest ricepud? (Nom nom nom).
Mardatha, will order the book you mentioned from the library - sounds good.
Had afew hours work yesterday so gvffh (cat stepped on keys) restocked on chocolate and other essentials in Mr L, and bought petrol, so set up for the week.
Kezlou, do you have a fridge lock? Was the only way of keeping our previous cats out. Current pair are not so bright.
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine (or at least an afternoon off).

i have decided i must get some direction in my saving or forever be mortgaged!--its a new tax year coming and i can pin the bank balance to April 1st--i am aiming to hit the jackpot by March 31st 2014 when i will be a stately 51.--if everything goes to plan i will be able to relax a bit on the work front and stop stressing about money so much!---i want to live a fulfilled live because you never know when your numbers up!---i am doing this plan alone and will keep my money seperate from abroad thus living to a reasonable standard with Dh and daughter.--No more new cars though or any more home improvements--anyone want to cheer me on or join in --shout up---the MFW thread has already started for 2011 but i may join in there next year as my direction gets more focussed!! Morning everyone

Its been a bit of a frightful few days here, I lost the baby due to complications and it feels like an atom bomb has gone off in this household..as an ex midwife I am now aware of the horrible raw pain some of my former patients experienced, its not until you have the reality of it hitting your own life can you fully empathise with how they felt., hopefully this will make me a more empathic person.
Montys devastated, as I am but we were lucky to have been hopeful for a few months..but like most things time will heal and we are fully aware of the gifts we have in our lives right now, this has been a real learning curve of how life happens whilst your planning other things...thing is to now take stock and revise our lives...least I have Montys young daughter in my life and for that Im most truley grateful.

The blokey that employs Monty on his estate has just announced that he is selling up but has given us the opportunity of buying this cottage and a good parcel of land to go with it, so this has focussed Montys mind on something other than what has happened, ever practical financially we could both just do it, place is really beautiful so were on the verge of emptying the bank accounts and purchasing this piece of our shared dream of self sufficiency and OStyle living..one door closes another opens into a different future that we had kinda planned on ..

Welshcamper so sorry to hear of your loss, my warmest hugs and thoughts to all that need them.. my local LETS group have been wonderful coming in and helping with the housework and cooking and looking after the youngster and just bieng my friend and comfort blanket to us both..I tulry couldnt wish for more lovley folk in my life..
In this journey of Moneysaving Ive come to appreciate the simple and most smallest of gestures, forget grand ones, a nice cuppa and a homemade biscuit and a friendly ear beats everything hands down.

Im away to fill our car with petrol, its top whack round here, locals have been moaning at my dad for closing down the petrol sales side of the garage, but it just wasnt financially viable anymore on the plus side they have one of the cheapest car repair/MOT places in the county, will they support it? no, they go off and get hammered elsewhere then come back for us to rectify the expensive repairs that have not been done properly ah well, least they know where we are after that lol...

This morning Im going to do a stock take of the freezer, list its contents and get meal planning and then get some concrete plans made as to how to paint the outside of this place on a tenner...luckily the local LETS are doing a paint swop session next week, have lots of half cans here and there and so has my dad so hopefully someone has a job lot of
white gloss hiding under there stairs,,,,

Love to you all...warm wishes to those that are having ups and downs at the moment,
