    Hi there,
Im back! Dh has been made redundant again so dont know how we are going to cope, but cope we will, at the moment we have quite a lot of food in, to get through. Hw was made redundant with no consultation, no warning, nothing and the day we got back from holiday to boot! Same as last time. Ach well. Has allready bought lots of seeds for the veggie patch so will get those started soon, and hopefully that will help. Have put loads of lovely shabby chic type things on ebay, and taking all the old metal to the recycling for some cash (am renovating a 13th century cottage) now we have the time and not the money! LOL!

aways makes me laugh when i hear of 13th century od cottages being restored--my appartment is 24 years old and it is considerd too old! all the 13th cntury old building were knocked down about 700 years ago in the name of modernisation! we are a quaint race but no poorer for it
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.

Honda 90 is dead easy to drive and cheap to run and does 60mph. Or even a scooter.

Can you get a 4 seater scooter? Now that I would like to see:p..LOL! I am looking into getting a cheaper car but it needs to be big enough to carry four adults. I have 3 kids , the eldest is 5'10 at 14:eek: and my dd is almost as tall as me and the way my 10 yr old ds2 is eating he is about to have a growth spurt!:D

As for the insurance rises for women -I think the news mentioned a 25% increase:mad: so thats on top of this years average of 40% . So much for the governments ideal of social mobility. The only mobile people are going to be the social elite at this rate. Makes me very cross.

FTM that fabric is lovely -no wonder you were so pleased !And I love the framed pics you did ,great money saving idea x

I found a couple of cans of 'draught' Guiness at the back of the cupboard that has been left over from Christmas :j and needless to say - once discovered - they were soon supped up. When the cans were empty, I opened one end to remove the "widget" before recycling the can - I found that the widgets are small hollow plastic balls . . . and after a rinse under the tap, they have kept the cats amused for days . . . light enough to bat around but much sturdier than ping pong balls :D all for free

This got me thinking about stuff we all do - unconsidered trifles, making summat from nowt - that cost nothing to do, that have no value in themselves but with a little ingenuity and a lot of love can make life a little sweeter...gathering little bunches of lavender for friends in towns or nursing homes, drying rose petals and herbs to freshen the home through winter, splitting perenials to share with neighbours, growing a few extra veg to 'gift' :) its the sort of stuff that endures and gets us through even when times are tough

The Old Blind Boy has become disorientated. After a trip to the vets its seems the end is nigh...more vodka me thinks. :( i hope they have "squishy" and chicken in heaven. The OH is coming to pick me up as I have had a drink so will spend our weekend together as a family.

A totally crap start to the year all round.
