Oh yay...."The Boy is back in town, boy is back in town, woo hoo". Forgive my singing! Phil Lynott is turning in his grave :rotfl:

Oh and the sack flour turned up and so there is a loaf in the BM as we speak. Lets see whether its worth its money.
  • Morning everyone. Have been catching up with you all this morning as have not bee on here for a few days. So much has happened to so many of you I have had diddiculty remembering it so rather than go through individuals remember I am thinking of you all.

Had a tough week at work, very, very busy.

OH has had his assessment for counselling so we are now waiting to hear from them what happens next.

One of our close friends had been told this week that her cancer had re-occured for the fourth time, she only finished the last cycle of treatment in Dec. This time it has spread to her liver and bones. I work at the hospital she is in so I have seen her every day and have spoken to her OH last night. They have both talked to me about the fact she does not have long left this time but unfortunatly they do not seem to be talking to each other. Still all I can do is listen to them both adn offer whatever support they need from me.

On an its tough note I have meal planned for the week and will be going shopping this morning. I am planning on adding a large quantity of sugar and vinegar to my stores over the next few weeks in preperation for the jam/chutney making I will be doing later in the year. Have almost finished last years jams.

Can not remember if I told you that I contacted the tax office and claimed back tax on my personal allowances for the last 5 years and for March I am £280 better off in my pay packet. I have now had a scond letter with my tax code for next year. I wil be paying more tax than this month but will still be approx £130 a month better off :T. As OH is still not earning this will help out no end.

Ventured into the new C**p that has opened. Wow they are expensive. I went in for soya milk that I usually get for 57 - 59p, It was £1.55:eek:. Needless to say I did without but I did get raspberries reduced to 50p.

Right I need to get downstairs cleaned and the shopping done before I go of to do my extra shift today.

    Have a good day
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

Nope they don't cover 40p a mile, maybe in london where prices are higher, but where i am in north east its 15p a mile. My OH recieved £14 back for his travel costs for a job interview and got a fraction of the cost back. He had another in North Wales and the job centre said we'll cover £25, he replied but its will cost me £65- £85 in fuel. So unfortunately he lost a good job, we couldn't afford the fuel. That's why last week i was so down in the dumps.

aw no pawpurrs hope something comes up soon.
FTM love your cushions and the lotty, very talented lady:)
    (((hugs redlady)))

Well had another carp day, OH didn't get paid yet again, so from 21/1/2011 we've had no income, cracking. Apprently we should be getting paid on Monday. Like that'll happen.
We had a big bust up, because i was so stressed with everything,, i didn't fancy a nasty pasty from a carp town bakery, un like the biys and OH, swear OH is worse than a kid sometimes.. I ended up cooking which i couldn't as i was over hungry with stomach acid. So were eating it tomorrow instead..

Don't get me wrong he's the love of my life, but when he's stressed well he's so ratty, even the rats legs it. He's just depressed because he outs of work.

Anyways tomorrow i' going to tke the boys to ldil to see what i can get. Looks like a deal where you get 2 fruit trees for £10 or 4 fruits tree for £5.
Been clearly out the yard today and t was so cold myfingers turned blue. Brrr, but it looks so much better. Going to try and get the rest of it sorted out tomorrow. The i start sowing some peas and salad leaves.

Right off to sleep as i'm shattered, grumpy and cold.

    Night all x

Kezlou..thats disgraceful about not being paid for that amount of time..crikey gal your made of strong stuff i would have snapped by now...I am sending my oh to lidl's..apparently when it comes to buying trees i am not to be trusted:rotfl:..i have 8 trees in my garden and 7 baby oak trees in tubs..i can't resist..thats with out the fruit trees:eek: and i have 4 fruit trees and 4 fruit bushes:D..thing is i walk past them and feel sorry for them couped up in plastic and i want to release them:o..hubby reckons i'm a tree-hugger..i love trees and plants and don't care what others think..i talk to my plants, trees and bushes:o:o..anyway enough rambling.i really hope you do get paid on monday sending you my good vibes..

:j Wow, that's such good news, and the OBB on the mend, too. Cats are blimming indestructable, aren't they?:j

:)I'm absolutely knackered having ventured into Suburbia. Didn't go to A*D* yesterday as planned as was too tired after the Shift From Hell, so lay on the sofa and groaned. Today, decided that instead I would head off in a slightly different direction to Giant Mr T. Wow, was that a different experience to Little Mr T my neighbourhood store. (Big eyes...)

:D I have bought a wind-up torch-FM radio for £7 and twice my own bodyweight in Basics Pasta Quills at 20p/500g. Plus some bread flour as am long overdue some baking. Will make it with sunflower seeds from the storecupboard, part of my mission to make sure nothing goes to waste in there.

Surburbia is straaange......they have gardens there.......without veggies..........peculiar people.

:) I'll know the recession has truly bitten deep when I see people grubbing up their lawns and planting tatties.

All righty, a little R & R then off to the lottie after lunch. Shame two days of bright sunshine disappears just as the weekend arrives. We have a dry overcast, middling chilly.

    Hello all

Been very busy baking these last two days but kept up with thread when I've stopped for tea. Sorry some of you are having such a bad time at the mo but don't you find that coming on here helps? Such a lot of love, support and good advice to be had.

Had a rare failure with a slow cooker meal yesterday. Did some pork with lots of veg but the meat ended up tasteless. Not horrible just very uninspiring. Not so long ago I would just have fed it to the dog but this time I made up a very tasty bolognese sauce, chopped the meat up and ended up with 4 nice big lasagnes. Feel very proud of myself.

Know what you mean about fuel prices I try to only use the car for essential things and keep looking for a job closer to home. Today I walked to town through the fields to collect a library book and as always once I was out and moving really enjoyed it. I find that when things get busy the first casualty is always the time I spend taking exercise. For some reason I always feel a bit guilty when I take time out to go for a long walk with the dog. So I've resolved to look at my schedule and build in some me time. Unfortunately with fuel prices as they are I won't be making many trips to our lovely peak district but I'm lucky because there are lots of walks locally.

    Be well
