if you contact cathedral city themselves youre likely to get a voucher for a free pack. I contacted them a few weeks ago with praise and got a voucher for a free pack, and as tesco was doing bogof meant i got 2 huge packs for free.0

Weighing issues will be regulated by your local Trading Standards. It might be worth letting them know for info, although its prob a mistake it might be affecting millions of blocks of cheese.
The Weights and Measures Act might say somehting on tolerances, I don't know.0 -
I've just bought bogof from my local store, and am so tempted to weigh them both now!0

oooh...please do weigh both, if you have time..and let me know!
Next time i buy bogofs' i'm def gonna be comparing sizes/weights.
I have noticed that, with liquids e.g. milk, fabric conditioner, washing up liquid etc, that there are varying volumes between the bottles..not a lot, but when its something like shampoo, just a teeny bit more, means an extra hair wash or two!
It's much harder to judge with weights tho.0 -
*Sits down with a cup of tea and waits patiently for Sublime to post the weights*

A 300-500g package is allowed to be up to 6% deficient so it would appear that the 400g pack of cheese weighing 380g would be within tolerance.
However the OP hasn't said whether this weight includes the packaging. If it does then it may be that when the weight of the packaging is factored in that the cheese is underweight.
If it has not yet been opened it may be worth taking it to your local Trading Standards Office who will be able to weigh it.0 -

yes...the weight o 380g included the packaging. I've not opened it, as don't want to be accused of eating the shortfall!
Have written to Dairy Crest, who own Cathedral City, and will await their response prior to contacting Trading Standards.0 -

You rotters! I have now felt a definite urge to weigh my bogof cheeses now, and......One weighed 205g, and the other 206g, instead of 200g each (so 11 extra gs). Feeling very sad now!
