:T Well done :T - it comes through really quickly.

Sorry I haven't been around for a bit. I am currently working on something, reading a really interesting book and am trying to sort myself out.

    I will be back soon.

    Hi everyone

Told you I would be back. Didn't think it would be at this time of the day, but there we go. I've got a cold and cough at the moment and was just lying in bed wide awake, so thought I could put my time to good use and get on with some work and catch up on my sleep later when I actually feel tired.

The book I have been reading is How to be a Money Magnet. It has really opened my eyes to my attitude towards money. Some things I have learned whilst reading it are:
    • I actually like money. I don't want to waste it on stuff I don't need. I want to save it.
    • It is okay to want things that will enhance my life. For example, I have wanted an Apple Macbook for a while now, and even though they are expensive, I feel it would be a wise purchase as I rely on my laptop for work and my current one is slowing right down and probably coming to the end of its life.
    • I want to be a writer.
    • It is important to clear my debts, because they are having a negative impact on my life. They are eating up £500 a month, which I could be using to make my dreams come true.
    • I need to be more positive. Any negative thoughts need to be swiped away and replaced with positive ones.
    • I need to create a vision board of everything I want to happen in my life so that I can see it and visualise it every day.
    • I blame other factors a lot for what has gone wrong in my life, but I shouldn't. I let my illness make me think that I can't do some things, when I haven't even tried. I blame my OH for getting me into debt, when he didn't force me to.
    • I waste my time with a lot of pointless tasks. For example, I used to play a lot of the free games on King.com. They ate into my time badly, so I have just emailed to close my account with them.

There were other things I could have listed, but I will stop there.

Don't worry, I'm not going to go on my mad 'must clear my debt' rampage again. What I am going to do is something that I have never done in my life - save!!

I'm not going to concentrate on my debts, or even mention them here again, as they are negative and I want to remain positive from now on. What I will do is to make my CCCS payment every month and then save the extra money in my savings account (I do have one, believe it or not - it's always empty though, but that will change ;)).

Then, once I have got a few grand saved up, I can choose to wipe a debt out if I so wish. But I would also be giving myself the choice to buy a Macbook with it instead. One thing I won't do is waste it.

Not sure if any of that made any sense, or if I am just rambling at 5.30am!! :)

Still awake and not tired yet. I usually do pretty well on little or no sleep.

Waiting for OH to finish a conference call and then I will drop him off at the station. Other than that, will probably just stay in today so I don't spread my cold germs around. Feel better than yesterday, my throat isn't hurting as much and my cough has subsided a little bit. Hopefully it's on its way out already.

Spent a few minutes this morning picking up and putting away. Got some washing up and the washing to do later. Oh, and Andy Murray's match is on from 10am so will watch that whilst doing some work.

Moved £2.80 into my savings account so that it wasn't at £0. It's a start ;)

    Thanks Beccie :A

Done some work, watched some tennis (Murray winning :D) and cottage pie is in the oven for lunch. Feeling a bit tired now so may have a nap after I've eaten.

  • Hi Emz,

I have a vision board, its funny how many things (small things mostly) I have now, I have had it up since Feb I think. It is very motivating to have the reminder there for me to look at and think ah that is why it is worth it.....I have a migraine so apologies if this doesn't make sense.

Thanks Buffy. I need to get a pinboard or something to set mine up.

I hope you feel better soon. Take care.
