I have just read MG's diary and someone on there said that they weren't prepared to overpay on their debts and let their past spending ruin their present or future happiness and fun. That really resonated with me.
I could spend the next 4-5 years scrimping and paying off my debts to become debt free a little bit earlier, but then I would be missing out on those 4-5 years.
So, I am going to pay back my mum as soon as I can and then as long as I have made my DMP payment and paid my bills, any extra money is going to be mine to do with as I wish.
My debts will be paid off eventually, but not at the expense of living my life.

In other news, I've now got £98 worth of mystery shopping jobs lined up. That's nearly another £100 for my mum.

Good on you for going to the festival. I was going to miss the tennis at the O2 this year, but I think I will save up and go now (once my mum is paid back obviously). Life is too short. All of my debts are with DCAs so I am not paying interest either.
How are you going on the Onepoll by the way?

Thanks Buffy :A. Can you remind me of this if I ever get into that 'must pay off my debt quickly' mentality again?

I know Lou. I don't know what it is with me. I seem to get it into my head that I 'need to clear this debt' and I 'need to do it quickly'. But I never really thought about why I needed to do it. The answer is that I don't, as long as I pay my DMP payment every month, they will disappear eventually.
